You can program what alerts you want to receive (tornado, flood, tsunami, etc) and program for what counties (what county you are in and if you want, surrounding counties.) You can also silence the tests and other warnings you don't want to hear. I bought one for each bedroom so everyone can be weather aware.

Would RecommendI have used both the WR120 and the WR300 for years now and both hjave served me well. However,make sure you keep fresh batteries in the radio at all times and don't ignore the low battery warning. Batteries are fort more than power failures.If they run down the Alert function will not work properly and alert messages will not be saved

Would RecommendFirst to say company is very responsive and if you need help they are there for you! The radio is easy! Once setup and that takes a couple of minutes, you need not do anything but let it monitor,, one a week ( Wednesday) the unit sounds and a voice comes on and tells you it is a test. Very reassuring you things are good around you. Great for home boat Rv . So inexpensive too!

Everyone needs one
Would RecommendEveryone needs this Weather Alert radio. It is easy to set up and program with multi-language available. It has a back lit blue screen making it easy to see. We got this radio just in time. We had a terrible storm with winds of 74 miles per hour and 8 hours of power outage. This radio continued to keep us updated with its battery backup. Definitely a great purchase.
