The back lower wall leans into the shower space. The back upper wall leans away from the shower space. The side walls are tapered, it seems in an attempt to match with back walls. They do not. Would Not RecommendI emailed the company and asked their procedure for installing safety rails. The reply stated that it was not recommended. Had I known that I would not have bought it. Everyone eventually gets old and rails in a shower/tub are desirable. I filed a complaint with Consumer Safety.

They are also somewhat flimsy - once installed they move when you push on them - they could have been designed with more back bracing. And I am not sure how they are supposed to be installed with plumbing.
