Best home improvement task I have taken on myself

It was easier to replace my existing deadbolts (since I had loaned out all my keys to the old ones) than it was to make yet another copy.

Easy Simple To Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had trouble with the old electronic lock (made in China for Kwikset). Kwikset replaced the old lock with a model that they make. All I can say is that the new one works excellent in all aspects.

Excellent and easy to install

Lock

Had for just over a year and doesnt work anymore

Had this unit for just over a year and of course the electronic key pad stopped working and is not under warranty. All the numbers minus the ones I use for my code work but that is unacceptable to me as I do not want to have to change my code over and over.

Dead after 6 months

When leaving for work one morning, I pressed the lock button. No motor, just a flashing keypad. Locked with a key for the time being. That evening, I replaced the battery. The lock locked and unlocked once, then same thing. Press the lock button and the keypad flashes. Locked the door manually and it unlocked with the keypad successfully. Then ...

Mechanical Issues

Electronic lock mechanism last about 6 months then stopped responding. Went to change batteries and battery casing had melted.

Great features and functionality

Very convenient

I have had this lock for about a year and half. It is fairly quick to open and close. Overall it is good. My only problem is about once a month the key pad will not unlock the door so I have to use my key. To get the keypad to work I remove the batteries and reinstall them and it starts working again.

Great convenient product

Replaced Twice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lock is not water tight or appropriate for outdoor use... which sort of defeats the whole purpose. I've had to replace mine twice (once was a free replacement from the manufacturer) because it got wet and jammed. I like the idea of this lock (it fits perfectly and, in theory, serves a purpose), but I wouldn't recommend it for a door/gate exposed to the elements.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned the Smartcode 909 for 6 months now and am completely satisfied with it. I liked it so much that I talked my neighbor into buying one and helped her install it... installation is easy (I installed mine also, and I'm 74 years old).

Excellent service

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this lock quite a long time ago. Works excellent! I did have an issue with the light. Customer service sent me a new one under warranty. I love the convenience of not having to carry even one more key!

Features are great.

I have had this lock for about 2 1/2 yaers now. It seems to have developed a problem within the mechanism. doesn't always unlock. if you use the key its fine. maybe a gear inside might be going. batteries are new. Its the mechanics itself. Will try and call and see what kind of Support and customer service I get.
