Complete guts kit for a Kwikset door handle

This is a great replacement for the guys of a kwikset door. It has all the necessary components to do so. Beware, it eliminates the security pin if you are using it on an exterior door.

Repaired a 45 year old door

The door was installed in the 1970's and the return spring for the old latch finally broke. The new one was a perfect fit with one exception: the original plate was antique brass while this only comes with polished brass plates. I popped the old antique brass plate off the old latch and tried to attach it to the new latch with no luck. The attachment point is a different size, so I had to use the polished brass plate. Close enough, I guess.

using this internal door latch part, made my repair of a non-working latch less difficult, and, avoided the expense of a total knob and latch set

Saved a new knob

My closet door suddenly was stuck shut. I was lucky to get it open and thought I would have to buy a complete new knob. I stumbled across this at Lowes and decided to give it a try. It worked perfectly and saved me buying a new knob. The retraction is backwards from the original and I was concerned about whether it would work, but it worked like a charm and was easy to install. This was adequate...repaired what was there

These locks are not my brand of choice and are built rather flimsy. I only bought this to repair the latchbolt that had failed in my home versus replacing it with a whole new lockset for the door. The latchbolt was a direct drop-in replacement, so ease of install was 5-stars, but the build quality is about 3 stars, so I averaged it out and gave this a 4 star.

Latchbold Kit

Great product concept. Rather than having to replace the entire door entry system at who knows what cost, 6 bucks fixed the problem with the product.

Perfect solution

We didn’t want to buy an entire lock, ours kept hanging up and this was a cheap easy solution!

Perfect Fit

Being able to replace just the broken bolt saved having to repaint both sides of the door when mounting a whole new lockset, and this latchbolt was a perfect fit.
