Would Recommend16' Tape is small enough that I don't accidentally press the release while holding and markings on both sides adds convenience. The larger tapes release with my natural grip, which causes me to naturslly gripe.

Would RecommendOnly tape I saw that automatically locks when you stop pulling it out. Push the button to retract. It has great construction data and conversion tables on the underside of the tape. You need to check this one out.

does not self lock like it says it will. I dont even use measuring tape much but first few inches on the tape are already twisted and does not keep straight. prb the worst measuring tape I ever used. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Would Not RecommendI have two of these "Self-Lock" measures. One 12-foot and one 16-foot. They do not lock by themselves and there is no way to manually lock them. Not convenient. Both are less than two years old and have been used relatively little and not at all abused.
