What Customers Are Saying
The Kobalt Ratcheting Screwdriver has a mixed reception. Customers appreciate the ratcheting mechanism, bit retention system, and versatility, but the included bits are too long to fit inside the handle. The storage compartment is not large enough to accommodate the provided bits, and some found the directional ratchet mechanism finicky. Despite these design flaws, the compact size and range of bit types make it a useful tool for some customers.

Would RecommendLove this handy screw driver. Works great. Only wish the bits fit into the handle to carry around.

Full of Machine Oil
In addition to the comments from other reviewers regarding the fact that the supplied bits are much too long to fit within the handle of the screwdriver, the screwdriver and the bits are liberally coated with machine oil. Be careful as you open the package. There is so much oil, I suspect that you'll have to deal with a slick screwdriver and bits for quite some time.
Sales person said screw driver bit would fit in handle of screwdriver. They do not. I was going to return it but had smaller bits in old old screwdriver with a broken cap that no longer held those bits. I had bought a Kobalt ratcheting Multi-bit screwdriver set years ago that was far better than this one. But it was misplaced and I was replacing it. I had purchased another Kobalt ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver set months ago but returned it because the bits kept falling out. I will not by...

Good inexpensive option
Would RecommendYou get a lot of tool for a little dough. Doesn't really do standard Allen so that was a bit disappointing. Very satisfied overall.

Good at holding a bit, but...
Would RecommendI was intrigued by how the handle holds a bit and it works. Only one time did the bit drop out in extensive use, but this was probably caused by activating the release ring without knowing it. The only thing odd about this set is the extra bits do not fit in the handle(!?!). Quite an oversight, because once you separate things, they tend to get “lost”, and are hard to find when needed without some searching and time wasted, Too bad the handle wasn't made longer so the bits could fit in (I would ...

Disappointing and misleading
Would Not RecommendAs many others have pointed out, the bits are too long to fit into the handle as one would expect. I have an apparently earlier version of this tool where the bits do fit into the handle. Why a change was made is totally mystifying, not to mention ridiculous. This one is getting returned. Totally unsatisfactory.
Good buy!
Would RecommendThe features make make it a lot easier to use and more sturdy than my previous No-name-brand ratcheting screwdriver bought from LOwe's.

Ridiculous
Would Not RecommendI bought this because the handle was designed to hold bits. This should give me a compact unit to pack on my motorcycle. However, the supplied bits are too long to fit into the handle. This is just dumb. I've got more bits to put into the handle, but the supplied bits SHOULD FIT IN THE HANDLE!!!
Poor Design
Would Not RecommendBits are too long to fit in the handle. Worthless design. Don’t buy or throw the bits and use shorter ones you can store in the handle.
Not a real good buy
Would Not RecommendThe screwdriver has storage in the handle but the bits that come with the screwdriver are too long to fit in the storage compartment. So the bits have to be kept separately. If they had just put bits with the screwdriver that were about an inch shorter (there is no need for them to be as long as they are) then they would be able to be stored in the handle. I guess the mfg wants them to just get lost so more bits have to be purchased. This screwdriver is not a “good buy”.

Great ratcheting screwdriver
Would RecommendThe screwdriver itself is awesome and works very well and seamless. However, the bits are longer than necessary for most general needs. They may be useful every now and then for some jobs where you need extra length, but I'd prefer they were standard sized and maybe an extender was included instead. All in all, I'm satisfied with the screwdriver and it feels quality made and durable.
Stupid design
Would Not RecommendThe drivers don't fit in the handle! A-1 stupid design!!! UGH!
Good price, bad in application.
Would RecommendYou would think if the bottom of the handle unscrews it would fit the other attachments. Sadly this is not the case. So carry screw driver and attachments separately. Other than this one quirk it works just fine.

Nice ratcheting mechanism but poorly designed bits
Would Not RecommendI came across this Screwdriver in store. Tried it out. Felt good and bought it. Upon opening the package I was really disappointed. The included bits are too long to be used with the screwdriver. I thought it's ten shorter bits but it's actually five double-sided long bits. Since I already have many smaller bits from my other powered drill I tried to use them but they're too short for this screwdriver. So it looks like Kobalt wanted to sell the screwdriver but decided to throw in these useless b...
Not a true 10-in-1 if you can't carry it as one.
Would Not RecommendThe bits that come with it DON'T store in the handle. They run about 4 1/2" long, but when you unscrew the storage cap on top of the handle and try to put these in, they stick up about 1/2" too far to get the cap back on. Couldn't have made the bits a little shorter or the handle a little deeper???
