Would RecommendI have always used straight blade cutters for both pex and poly. That type of cutter always crushed the tubing especially on poly. The kobalt pex cutters sliced through both pex and poly pipe very cleanly without deforming. 1/2” pex wouldn’t cut really square as the jaws are to large to keep it stable. Would RecommendI used this to install an under sink water filter and this thing cut the supply lines like butter. It will cut up to 1" OD and is backed by a lifetime guarantee. As a homebrewer, I also use this to cut vinyl tubing. The blade is easy enough to change and it makes a great addition to your plumbing toolkit.

Would RecommendThis review is for the Kobalt Up to 1 In-in Pex Cutter Pipe Cutter. This cutter is for rubber, plastic tubing and PEX-tubing; it is NOT for PVC or CPVC or any other type of thicker walled, hard plastic pipe. It is very easy to use and did not require a lot of strength to cut a piece of PEX tubing (and I’m a little old lady).
Kobalt PEX Cutter
Would RecommendI received this product to review and it worked very well and cut thru the PVC pipe like Hot Butter with NO problems at all! The only "negative" comment I can think up is that this Kobalt PEX Cutter can be used for 1" OD pipes only! If it was a little larger it could be used for more applications

Fast Cutter
Would RecommendTested this cutter on rubber, plastic hose and small polyethylene. Works great on all. It looks very similar to a pvc cutter, but it couldn't cut pvc, Pex blade is much thicker than the pvc cutter blade. It gives a perfect 90 degree cut on the soft rubber hose by using a slight twisting action and it could do it up to the one inch limit. Definitely replaces my old method of razor knife that only a steady hand, flat surface and a lot of practice can you cut at a perfect 90 degrees. Pictures sho...
