What Customers Are Saying

The self-adjusting locking pliers appear to be of poor quality, with many customers reporting issues with the product's performance and durability. The pliers often fail to self-adjust or lock properly, making them difficult to use effectively. Additionally, the build quality is subpar, with the pliers flexing, jamming, or breaking easily during use. Overall, the product does not meet customer expectations and is not considered a suitable replacement for more reliable locking plier brands.

TOTAL JUNK

Would Not Recommend

If you're holding two pieces of sheet metal together, ok. But try to grip a round bolt, pipe and forget about it. I went to return them to Pacoima store, but didn't have my receipt, so I told the cashier to just throw them in the trash. They aren't worth spending any more of my time on.

BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK EVER

Would Not Recommend

The pliers do not lock on to anything and have zero gripping strength. They do not self adjust and can't even lock themselves closed. They function so poorly when I first got on the computer my search was "Kolbalt magnum grip plier recall" because I thought there was no way they would leave this piece of junk out there with their name on it. Unless you are doing arts and crafts you will not want these pliers in your tool box. I'm thinking about making mine into a boat anchor this spring.

Worst pliers EVER - Net even useful as a hammer.!

I bought a number of these, some for gifts, some for me and some to possibly resale. I thought $5 for a pair of visegrip type pliers? how can you lose After what described below I rushed to return them 1st I thought the bad reviewers are just inexperienced people, but there was so many of them on amazon, so I opened a pair to try them . I tried the smaller pair. I grabbed something with the pliers- a small magazine about 20 pages, just to see the grip. It worked, seemed to hold when the magazine...

Junk

Would Not Recommend

Have had these for 10 months. I work with machinery and us tools all day. These are the worst tool I have seen. I and 5 other mechanics have tried to use them and none of us have been able to make them grip to anything, round, square not even our fingers (with Vise Grips it would break your finger). do not waste your time they are worst than junk and Lowes "WILL NOT TAKE THEM BACK or REFUND THEM".

Total Junk

Would Not Recommend

I've been in the maintenance field for a long time now for over forty years, and I have yet to run across a bigger waist of money as far as tools go in my life. This pliers set, falls short of even the junk that is for sale from Chinese or Taiwan. I never not one single time got then to hold or grip anything I was trying to grip. Wood, metal, or even plastic these pliers turn loose of everything. So keep your Craftsman, Channel Lock, and Vise Grip pliers my friends you are going to still need th...

KOBALT loyal - Not so great

Would Not Recommend

I tried my best with these, but have a hard time getting them to lock on anything. Materials are strong, well built, just not functional. Buy the manual adjusting pair, they are much better. KOBALT of course

Major fail

Would Not Recommend

Without a doubt the worst item(s) I've ever purchased from Lowe's. I don't expect great tools from the Kobalt brand, but I do expect baseline, homeowner quality at least. These simply don't work; the "clamping" mechanism is suspect at best and even if you do get lucky enough to have one engage, the bodies are thin steel plate and flex like a toy. I got these for $5 on sale, and still took them back.

I ended up purchasing 4 sets of these for friends and family members. The close out price was just too good to pass up.

I have only used the smaller size once and from what I can see if they worked as shown. I didn't use any real torque on them, will wait and see. I picked the set up on clearance got 4 buvks.

Do not grip well and do not lock well. Ended up using a real Vise-Grip to get the job done.

Good idea, poor execution

Would Not Recommend

Bought these on a lark as they were marked way down and I can always use a good set of locking pliers. Unfortunately, I had to return these after the first use. They are very difficult to use under anything but ideal conditions. Come to think of it, I tried one out a few months back in the store, and had trouble figuring it out. I've used the Vise Grips for years. These won't be taking any market share. If you're trying to grip anything that isn't very hard, like a piece of rubber, it won't get ...
