Not impressed
Would Not RecommendThe unit bogs down in even the lightest use. The head does not feed well at all and battery life is subpar compared to other offerings on the market. I got so aggravated with the feed head that I threw the unit 20 feet and the frame snapped. I'll never purchase another Kobalt power tool.

Manufacturing error
Would Not RecommendI am Lowe's Pro member and have purchased many Cobalt products. This is the first time that I have experienced a poor Cobalt tool that shouldn't be on the shelf. I purchased a KST 1040A-03 trimmer, bneought it home and tried to assemble it. The sting guard does not line up with the screw holes at the end of the shaft. Would Not RecommendLong time Kobalt faithful customer. This season I had to buy another weed eater(had an older model 40V Kobalt) and this thing is weak and worse than the older version. I am not sure anyone likes weed eating, but I hate my life now when I have to. This model lacks power and speed and it takes easily twice as long to do my yard now. It pains me to talk bad about Kobalt, but this might be the sign I was concerned about and it is time to find a new brand and company that doesn’t regress.
