Would RecommendI think that it is a good product but did not used it i got the wrong one
weak handles
Would Not RecommendI used it the day I bought it to cut some steel rods and the handles bent while cutting. Blades seem sharp and hard enough but that doesn't do any good if it doesn't have strong enough handles to use it.
Kobalt 24 inch Bolt Cutter
Would RecommendReasonably priced. Heavy duty and does the job. I use it for cutting through chain link fencing thus making the chain link easier to handle.
2 attempts to cut left 2 circle dented jaws
Would Not RecommendReally poor metal being used for the bolt cutter jaws. This tool is not at all fit for purpose. I couldn't even cut a cheap $3 padlock shackle.
I use these on my Farm and they work great for for cutting wire for fences an gates and what ever else I may need to cut.
The bees knees
Would RecommendThese are awesome. I almost bought a smaller pair thinking "eh, what will I ever need these for?". I'm so glad I went big before I went home, they cut through steel like butter and the longer handles give a good bit of additional leverage for bigger diameter cuts.
Kobalt 24" cutter
Would Not RecommendI purchased these cutters to cut a lock & they hardly dented the lock . Highly recommend Master Locks . Ended up cutting chain
LarBolt Cutter - How Did I Ever Live Without This?
Would RecommendAwesome tool; I work in stained glass, and on a whim decided to make a fairly heavy stained glass flamingo for my front garden. Because of the weight of the glass & lead, I had to use steel rebar as a both a strengthening rod as well as providing the stake to go two feet into the ground. Purchased this 24" bolt cutter to cut the rebar, and it was like slicing through butter. Wonderful!
NOT for Padlocks - too soft
Would Not RecommendI bought the kobalt 24" bolt cutter to cut through a padlock on a storage unit since the key had broken off in the lock. It did successful cut through one lock with significant effort. After cutting the one padlock, The jaws had dented becoming useless for cutting any more padlocks. The metal seems to be too soft for padlocks.
Disappointing
These were purchased to cut a lock off of a locker since the keys got locked inside. The lock was not heavy duty and was a cheap lock. The jaws of the cutters got dents in from one single use.
Not hard enough for padlocks
Would Not RecommendThis worked fine for some steel cable, but the first time I tried it on a padlock, it dented the cutting edge badly. The steel is not strong enough. Junk.
Great tool that performed EXACTLY as expected!
Would RecommendMy family recently completed a move to a new home and we somehow misplaced the keys to a locked storage cabinet. The cabinet was secured with two hardened-steel Master Lock padlocks. Well, these Kobalt 24 in. bolt cutters took care of both padlocks with ease. It was literally "snip-snip" and took about thirty seconds (my wife was shocked at how easy it was!). These have great leverage with their long handles. Afterward, I oiled the bolt cutters and placed them on my garage tool rack. I love a go...
Play toy
Would Not RecommendIf the bolt you need to cut is from an erector set (think Mattel) this is the tool. If you need a real bolt cutter try Northern. I like Kobalt for the most part for home use, including the warranty. But this tool is not for anything other than hobby shop tasks. Too bad.
Not serious bolt cutters
Would Not RecommendI purchased this tool to make a simple cut and remove a light weight pad lock that has rusted and is now non-operational, the 24-in bolt clutter would not do the job and I will be returning to my Lowes store for a refund.
