What Customers Are Saying
The product features a ratcheting mechanism for efficient screwing and unscrewing, and includes a variety of convenient storage bits. While generally well-built, some users have reported issues with loose screws, unreliable ratcheting, and lower quality bits. The tool appears suitable for DIY and household use, but may not be as durable for more demanding professional applications.

Would RecommendFor the price it is a good tool to have. Especially when you consider all the different bits it comes with. I own two of these. You'd benefit from buying an adapter to use small 1/4 sockets. Biggest problem is tht the shaft is slightly bent which is annoying. Most cheap tools like these don't stay straight for long. But honestly even big brands don't make a racheting driver as well put together as this.
Kobalt screwdriver
Would RecommendWorks great! I purchased this one for my brother-in-law he didn't have one, I have had one for 6 years and it still works great.

Double Drive Screwdriver
Would Not RecommendSo my friend bought one and I saw it I thought it was very cool and handy. So I bought one. His is still working fine. Mine not so much. The double drive feature stop working properly. It gets stuck like it has a burr inside of it. Now its a regular ratcheting screwdriver.
ratchet/turbo screwdriver
Would RecommendThe screwdriver works pretty good, however the bottom cover that screws off can get cross threaded easily and when I tightened it to stop it from unscrewing when i used it, it broke at the treads so tighten carefully. Only had it about a month little less. Other than that it seems to hold up pretty well.
Lots of things could have been done better
Would Not RecommendAs a screwdriver it works but there are quite a few issues with it. The handle is a hex shape for grip but it has rounded edges. That combined with a round knurled front section means that whenever you set it down it rolls - very, very easily. The bits (as other had indicated) are not high quality. One of the worst thing is that after you start swapping bits it is almost impossible to get the bit holder and bits to easily slide back into the handle. The bits have to be exactly correct or th...
Durable Driver
Would RecommendQuality ratcheting screw driver that has the ability to double your speed. The handle has all the common adaptors inside of it and it has a real good feel in my hand.

LOoking for a replacement for a replacement for my old Snap on. This on fit the bill without breaking the bank!
Useable, but a step back from previous offerings
Would Not RecommendMy old Kolbalt rachet screwdriver was amazing, and was just like new after 6+ years of use before an unfortunate incident with a new pool damaged it. I got this screwdriver as a replacement, after appreciating the quality of the previous product. It gets the job done, but it has two serious flaws. The first of which is the reverser, used to change the direction of turn, being an up and down mechanic instead of a twist function like the old one. When you're in tight spots, it can bump into the a...
Wobbly
Would Not RecommendI like the 2 X speed for turning but the mechanism makes the device wobble at the top end. Checked out several at 2 Lowes and they all do the same.

Not what it use to be
Would Not RecommendI've owned both the first and current models of this driver, unfortunately after the 3rd time of it being stolen, I was unable to recover it. So, I bought a new one, and that was a mistake. The only "improvement" they have made is making the directional switch accessible in 360˚. However that does not outweigh the obvious shortcomings. The original was silent and smooth, where as the new has an obvious ratcheting feel and sound. This new one has obvious wobble from the drive shaft, where as the ...
No better screwdriver
Would RecommendI bought its grandfather years ago. My wife uses it, now, so I bought this one. It is better, with more drivers and convenient usage. Get several!

Twice as fast with Kobalt Quality
Would RecommendI absolutely love this unit. This is my third one. One for my house, my car and one I gave to my daughter. Love Kobalt. Lowes had me scared for a while, I thought they'd discontinue this brand. I have all types of their product, car air pump, scissors and tools. All exceptional.

Tiny screws come loose as you use it
Would Not RecommendI ordered online for pickup in-store. Great concept but execution is lacking. Screwdriver is bent. It was insanely hard to loosen the cap to access the bits in the handle. The outer ring of the (planetary?) gearing arrangement that allows must faster ratcheting is held in place by four tiny torx screws that I cannot find a driver for. They have come loose as I have been using the driver. Two have come out entirely. I will attempt to exchange. Great concept but already falling apart.
not worth it
Would Not Recommendratchet feature stopped working after one light switch plate and one door hardware adjustment. totally bound up.
Good concept, terrible execution.
Would Not RecommendThe double-drive feature is incredibly fast (it actually is twice as fast) but is very impractical for one-handed use. You need to be grabbing the black knurled collar at all times to use the double-drive. this wouldn't be a problem if the ratchet mechanism was practical enough to use one-handed. The ratchet is way too sloppy to engage on anything but the tightest screws in single-drive, or without your hand on the black collar. So, if you need to hold your work down or hold a flashlight or some...
Why is this even in the store?
Would Not RecommendI bought this goodlookimg screw driver expecting it to be useful. The screw but falls out and is not magnetic..... what is the pojnt of this screwdriver? Kobalt manufacturing needs to stop producing these to help other brand name conpanies to have more shelf space.
Cheap materials
Would Not RecommendBought this ratching screwdriver and went to use it but the cap holding the bits in place wouldn’t budge. Had to use a vice to get it to turn off. Naturally the plastic got ripped up on the inside threading doing it so the thing is shot.
Better then Craftsman.
Would RecommendI bought this one after trying the 27 piece Craftsman one that was junk. So far so good.

Not recommended
Would Not RecommendI dropped this screwdriver the same day I bought it. The fall was about 3-4 feet and the bottom screw cap was on. It popped off and the plastic threads cracked. I know I dropped it and that is my bad, but I expected more especially as it was not a hard drop. I have other Kobalt tools tgat i like, but bot this one.
