Ratings & Reviews for Klein Tools VDV Apprentice Cable Installation Kit with Scout Pro 3, 6-Piece
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The tools are generally well-built and effective at crimping and testing ethernet cables. The tester accurately identifies cable issues and measures length, helping users troubleshoot home networking projects. However, some customers encountered issues with specific features, such as the crimper not automatically cutting through pass-through connectors and the stripper sometimes cutting too deeply. Overall, the tools are reliable and high-quality, but may have room for improvement in certain design aspects to enhance the user experience.

Great Tool
Would RecommendMoved into a new home that was pre-wired with ethernet cables connected in the wall jacks. I added connectors to the other ends and tested. Well, 70% of the cables failed a continuity test. I found the installers did a poor job of wiring the jacks and once I punched down all eight wires on each jack the connections all tested good. The tool is a little pricey but it's a Klein and their stuff is always top quality.
Great Tester, so so crimper
Would Not RecommendThe Scout Pro 3 is a great cable tester/mapper, But the ethernet crimper is a non passthrough style. It's hard to even find non passthrough connectors anymore.
