Ratings & Reviews for KitchenAid White Plastic Stand Mixer Food grinder attachment
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the attachment for its ease of use and effectiveness in grinding fresh meat for burgers and sausage, with many highlighting intuitive operation and quick cleanup. However, a substantial portion report premature failures, particularly plastic components cracking or the grinding screw breaking after minimal use. Several note visible cracks at the housing-to-shaft junction and describe quality concerns. Despite durability issues, many still recommend it for occasional use, though others warn against purchase or suggest switching to metal alternatives. Overall, performance satisfaction is offset by reliability concerns.

Easy to Use!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My other half bought this around Christmas time so we could make our own hamburger blend. It works amazing! We ground up about 4 lbs worth in a short amount of time. The unit is Super easy to clean! We kept the box to store it when not in use.

Very Unsatisfied
Would Not RecommendWe just used this for the first time to attempt to grind apples and cooked venison. Apple juice backed into the machine and ran out the bottom of the mixer with oil. Grinding cubes of meat it kept clogging and we had to take it apart and clean it 4 times for 2 lbs of meat. Called “Customer Service” and call wait time was 1 hour 45 minutes, no option to ask for return call.

Cheap plastic - DON'T BUY!!
Would Not RecommendThe plastic cap for the grinder broke on my first use. This is the second attachment I bought and the same cap broke on the first one also. I'm going to try a metal unit. Piece of cheap garbage!

Plastic Housing Split
Would Not RecommendThe plastic housing on my grinder attachment split down the length of it. This didn't happen during use (only used once) but while in the storage box.

Broke, sadly
I got this because it cost less than the metal grinder. But ironically, the metal part broke, not the plastic

Lasted 6 years using it 3 - 4 times a year.
Would Not RecommendI had this attachment 6 years using it very few times a year. Always in the box when not in use. Just went to use it and discover the main housing cracked. Not sure what caused it. Maybe caused by placing in the dishwasher?? Believe me, it was not "over used" by any means.

Missing Parts
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great project but my grinder was missing the course grinder blade and plater when I opened my box.

Great product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No as big and strong as I thought. It would be nice if all the hardware were made of solid metal.

Works great until it doesn't!
Would Not RecommendWorks great until it doesn't. The base of mine quickly developed a crack (where it attached to the mixer) and that's slowly gotten bigger to the point that meat juices squirt out of it upon use. Also, probably unrelated, but worth noting because I notice it when I use the grinder, there's oil leaking from the back of my mixer. It's pretty gross to get on your hands. And, honestly, if you don't mind it's oil, it can easily be mistaken for something edible. I really wish both these issues didn't g...

If only for the cacks.
Would RecommendMy wife bought this for me on Christmas years ago. Love it but for one problem. Plastic housing cracks. And it did not take long for the cracks to appear. I have eight cracks at the back of the housing where it attaches to the mixer. One serious the rest not as bad. I have an automotive stainless steel hose clamp on the housing to keep them from spreading. It needs to be made out of steel. I would give it a 5 but for the cracks. Works fine. As far as lubrication I put vegetable oil on the shaft ...

Grind away!
Would RecommendI’ve had this grinder for about 6 months or so and I appreciate the fact that I can pretty much turn any cut of meat in the fridge into ground meat. I’ve made picadillo, meatballs and patties so far. Most times it’s been able to handle whatever is thrown into the grinder. I give this a four-star review because it has jammed a couple of times and the grinder came loose once. It couldn’t process the sinew as well on those occasions so I have been more mindful of trimming the meat down a bit to avo...
