Beautiful Toaster, Not Beautiful Toasting Results
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful appliance but not acceptable results so far. The toast is inconsistent. It does not brown the bread evenly on both sides. The bagel setting is excellent. I don't know if this toaster is stuck on the bagel setting because the outside of the bread hardly toasts at all while the inside of the bread is dark or nearly burnt. It doesn't matter whether I toast one slice of bread or two. The results are the same.

Beware of refurbished items
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this toaster as refurbished. It failed to lock in the on position and would not toast bread. In addition, there was considerable difficulty in returning the item. The automated return system kept rejecting my return information, and the customer return phone line operated in a very narrow time window

Nice size and color, but---
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the color and the compact size. What I don't understand is why one side of the sliced bread is golden brown and the other side is almost black and this is consistent with this toaster as well as the one I just donated. I am using a good quality white bread so I don't think that is an issue. The bagel feature is great and they come out perfect every time. It is the sliced bread toasting feature that I am not happy with.

I've used it about 5 times and every time I use it, I set the dial on number 1 except for the first time it was on 2. It burns the crust, and it is barely toasted in the middle. On the number 2 setting I had to cancel the toasting cause it over toasted it. I usually have no problems with Kitchen Aid products however this toaster isn't working like I hoped it would.
