Ice cream in less than 30 minutes with no ice

Easy to use, easy to store in the deep freezer. I did learn the hard way that this attachment does NOT fit the 5 quart bowl lift mixer. However, with a little unintentional breakage of the underside of the handles on the attachment that hook onto the prongs of the mixer, it now fits.

Gone but not forgotten

I purchased this last year and have used it maybe 6 times. As the weather warmed up, we went ahead and pulled it from the deep freezer only to find that it wasn't freezing all the way. We could hear liquid sloshing around on the inside, which the internet seems to indicate that an internal seal is broken

Not nearly what you expect.

I’m having buyer’s remorse. Always trusted Kitchen Aid brands, but very disappointed with this experience. Bought this for my wife’s birthday and had nothing but trouble. Bowl doesn’t fit properly. Rubber stirrer attachment is tearing and the tearing pieces are hanging above the food we are preparing to eat. Also to much prep for such a small amount of finished product. Then to beat all, calling for help was more complicated than making the ice cream.

Poorly made

My fiancé bought me this for Christmas. I have used it twice and the bowl has a huge crack going across the bottom. I am very disappointed with the quality of this product and do not recommend it to anyone.

Cracked shell

Got this product for Christmas 2025 and the shell cracked and leaked fluid on the countertop and mixer. Third or fourth time using it. Major disappointment.

DO NOT BUY! BUYER BEWARE!

Broke after one single use....Went to use it a 2nd time and saw that all the blue liquid managed to come out and then solidify leaving me with a mess to clean. Followed the cleaning instructions and everything.

Doesn’t last, sadly

After two years, the bowl is no longer freezing the ice cream. I used it successfully a bunch of times and now it’s not working. There is no damage that I can see, and I hear liquid in the bowl when I shake it. My freezer is -5°F. I called KitchenAid and they said I needed a new one, but didn’t offer any reason for it not working, nor any guidance on how to keep this from happening again.

Not worth it!!!

This is a terrible attachment. Does not work right, plastic parts.

We scream for ice cream

Disappointing

Disappointed that this doesn't fit my 5.5 quart bowl-lift stand mixer, and there's not one made that would fit.

Broken attachment

We bought the attachment only used it twice and it broke. Unfortunately it was past the time to return because it’s not an everyday appliance. Really disappointed!

It cracked!

I bought mine in Dec. 2023, and have made maybe 6-8 batches of ice cream in it. It's great. Easy to use, easy to clean. BUT - it cracked! I took it out of my freezer to make ice cream for Thanksgiving, and once it started up I noticed a leak. Luckily, I was able to get my ice cream made, but I had to keep a towel under it to catch all the leakage, and now it's useless. I live alone - so no kids or anyone but me has ever handled this item. Works great but cracked after a few months

Bought in June 2025. I use it at least once or twice per month. Works great. I just got home from vacation and picked it up and it started leaking everywhere. The bottom is cracked. It hasn’t been dropped and I only wash by hand. I’m not sure why it would be cracked. I guess I’m about to find out how good Kitchenaid’s warranty is.

Heavy duty!

This mixer makes it so much easier to combine ingredients even/especially on very stout dough.

Beware of leaks

I bought this in August and the bowl is leaking liquid. It’s never been in the dishwasher and so disappointed

Good but hub assembly ripped

I LOVE making ice cream in this, but my hub assembly is ripping and shredding rubber into my ice cream. I have an old model so I'm wondering if it just doesn't fit right? I have the K45SS, pretty old, but I'm just disappointed in the quality of it.

Love it! (But it cracked)

We purchased ours in April 2025. We have made 1-2 batches a week since then. So many different flavors we've created! I will say, the bowl unfortunately has a crack somewhere and is leaning blue goo from the internals. We have not washed it in a dishwasher, only by hand (never dropped) and put back in the freezer. I'm curious what KitchenAid will do about it. It seems it should last indefinitely with the proper care we've taken while using it a bunch!

Works but man it’s messy

Works great but it’s an absolute nightmare trying to get the ice cream off the dasher. What a frigg’n mess!
