Would RecommendI have used these very effectively because I know what they are. At less than 1/8 inch think they are designed to be strictly cosmetic. And they are absolutely perfect for that. Your lower cabinets typically have a black painted kick plate. I use these to dress up the look- I use Minwax stain with satin or semi gloss polyester finish. I rip 1/8 inch off the height so they do not contact the floor but you can not see that from above. Finish all sides (two coats) to give them some water proof capa...
Bad end product
Would Not RecommendThese toe kicks are very thin pieces of wood. Very flexible. Ends grey when you gut them. Impossible to get your stain to match your cabinets. I also had to purchase 1x4 to support them. If I did it all over again, I'd go right for the 1x4. I only used the toe kicks because I had money and SO much time into them trying to get them to match. It's the only part of the kitchen redo that looks wonky.

Not 3/8" thick!
Don't go to the store with bad information. First of all, these are 1/8" thick, not 3/8". Also, don't trust the stock. No store I checked had as many on hand as the number indicated online. Some stores have none! These are a decent-looking, unfinished oak veneer on MDF and measure exactly 4" wide. They are not structural, for appearance only. Stain/finish them to match/contrast your cabinets & flooring. If you need structural & can accurately cut strips, use oak veneer plywood of the appropriate...
