Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this online and it makes for a very easy cleanup and provides better airflow. However, the hooks get in the way on the Classic 1 and do not allow you to put the heat deflectors on the lowest tier of the divide and conquer. You have to balance it on the hooks of the basket or use the x accessory. I took an angle grinder and cut them off, now my heat deflectors can go on the bottom tier again.

Well made heavy duty
Would Not RecommendWell made heavy duty, thought it would improve efficiency of my Classic #1. Definitely would make clean out easier. I haven’t used it yet for 4 reasons. One is reported increased charcoal consumption. Two a lot of smaller charcoal pieces that are still productive will end up in the clean out tray (maybe the reason for increased consumption). Boom! Basket is great
Would RecommendLove it! Definitely increased the versatility of Big Joe. This basket makes it possible to use the whole bottom or less than half depending on how much you’re cooking. Cleanup is easy, just let Joe cool down, remove the basket & discard the ashes. Voila!

Poor design for the classic
I bought this for my classic and I’m not impressed. The basket sits too high to use the divide plates when cooking indirect. The basket needs to be removed and the cast iron grate at the bottom replaced to cook indirect. Also, grates and inner ring have to be removed to shake the coals in basket. Waste of money!!
