The "easy" installation was super-tough!

The new "plug-and-play" feature was almost impossible. Our house is wired with 12 gauge wired, which is thicker than 14 gauge. I had a very hard time pushing the wires into the receptors on the unit. Plus, I needed three hands to lift it and twist the main body into place. Miraculously, it didn't leak. I went to bed early.

requires proprietary power cord, not included

They do not include a power cord. That would not be a big deal but their power connector is a proprietary device that requires (for an outlet plug in style electrical feed) a special cord from Insinkerator. A second trip to the store and needless expense. If this is wired using solid conductor romex it will work without the special separately sold power cord.

Upgrade from entry level

Seems durable and well made. Stainless hub so don’t have to worry about corrosion like the magnesium built one. Install was straight forward. Only issue was getting the power connector on the disposal. Mine is hard wired. Not very loud and seems to grind what I’ve put in so far. I would recommend this unit for the price.
