Would RecommendThe new InSinkErator is much more quite than our prior model and does the job equal or better. We moved up one model from the original in our home. The prior disposal quit working and was an estimated 7-8 years old, but we had no knowledge on how it was used by the prior owner. We have had two prior units with no problems at all in different homes.

Loud and Smelly
Would Not RecommendThis product is overly loud. The rubber piece for the sink has a large gap allowing oder and sound to escape very easily making the kitchen smell and a bit obnoxious when running the disposal.

Easy swap for a tired disposal
Would RecommendI installed this Badger 5XP disposal to replace a leaking one of the same brand after 8 years. It was easy to disconnect the old dishwasher line and rotate the old disposal off of the coupling. Don't forget to knock out the supply line fitting with a screwdriver on the new disposal if you have a dishwasher to it can drain into the disposal. You will also need a cord assembly also because my old cord just wouldn't work. Save yourself a trip to the hardware store. Lift up and rotate the unit back ...

Good, basic garbage disposal
Would RecommendWe purchased this disposal as our previous one developed a leak. It was advertised as twist on/twist off when in reality installation instructions contained numerous steps including wiring the new disposal to the power source. We quickly determined this was not a self install and called in a plumber.

Very easy to install
