Trouble burning

They would not burn well for me. I had to keep relighing them and they still did not burn completely. Don't know if I just got some bad(old) logs but they did not work well at all. Very disappointed!

Effective in stainless chimneys

This product works well enough that our chimney stays clean for several years. The stainless liners stay clean.

I usually use 3 of these during the season and don't get much creosote even when I mix in some green wood. I gave 4 stars because there's no real way to measure what you may be eliminating.

Bad odor

Decent product, burned and smoldered for 12 hours before completely consumed. Put out unpleasant smell.

Coincidence that smoke built up in house AFTER USE

We live in Florida so dont use fireplace but a couple times in winter however, house is 30 years old so thought this log would be good idea. We used the fireplace for the first time a couples weeks AFTER using this log and the house smelt intensely of burning wood. Had to put all fans in house in reverse to suck up the smell and the smoke. This of course was a little scary to me beings that I have never used a sweeping log before and after using it my fireplace is now not working correctly. I...

Fire crackers in log

Do not recommend using this for the fireplace inside the house. Currently 1 hour into the log burning and 2 fire crackers have popped. Scared me, my wife and our dog.

Great safety device

I use one of these in my wood burning stove and one in my fireplace every year, when I had my flu and chimney inspected, was told they were very clean.

Seems like the only choice....

I am not up in my chimney, but I am assuming that it works, knock on wood, haven't had any issues and I use this once in the beginning of winter at 1st fire or two, then again towards last fire of the fall.

Great for maintaining your chimney clean

Great to use at the beginning of the cold season to clean up your chimney- I like to use one at the end of the season to maintain the chimney in good shape.
