Based on this product's low reviews vs. another brand, we were very hesitant to buy it. However, when we got to Lowes the other brand was not available, only the Homax brand. For $4.98 + tax, we were not going to drive all over town for this small project. We purchased it (if it did not work you can always return it) and still very skeptical, decided to try it out first on a 'hairline' crack in the popcorn ceiling. Would Not RecommendWhen applied by a brush or trowel per the instructions this product creates streaks from the popcorn material. The mud does not contain a leveling agent and will not dry smooth causing the streaks to be very visible. You can take your time and attempt to limit the streaks, but you will not be satisfied with the final result. Save your money, but don't consider the spray can either. I wonder if Lowes will refund a partial container...

Would RecommendUsed several different types of patch and was highly dissatisfied and mostly frustrated... old popcorn kept pealing under other stuff... and the spray patch liked like cobwebs!!! Not Enough Texture
Would Not RecommendJust like the other review, this does not have nearly enough "chunks" in it to give it that popcorn texture. Mine was almost completely smooth. Get the 2 Gallon Roll On Texture as it works better. In the other review Homax seems to think this is spray on texture but it's obviously not.

Would Not RecommendThought this "Ready to use" product would work well to patch a seam on my popcorn ceiling. Based on the picture on the product it would be a perfect match. Not even close; there is no texture whatsoever in this product. Even after mixing thoroughly, no sign of texture. Had to rough up the surface with my putty knife similar to a knock down finish just to try and camouflage the area. I would not recommend this product.
