Replacement compressor

Bought this to replace Porter Cable pancake unit in one of our out buildings. Went on reputation of brand name. Does not pump up or last as long as the PC unit. Really disappointed in it. Could pump up tractor tires in a reasonable amount of time with the PC. Takes forever with this one. Pretty much rated the same ane the Porter Cable was almost half the price. I would not buy this one again and would not recommended it to anyone.

Good Compressor

I do not Like at all the Oil dip stick - Very hard to see the oil level , when you pull the plastic dipstick up it has to be tilted to miss another compressor Part . looks like a one size fits all Dip stick - Very poor design in my opinion! this is why the average Rating .

Used once so far.

I have used this compressor only once, but it is not bulky which makes it easy to carry. The instruction manual is well written and easy to understand. It was also convenient that it came with enough oil for the initial startup which meant no extra trip to a store. I can't judge durability and performance on one use, therefore I choose the middle rating.

Keeps up with everything I give it!

This compressor is absolutely great! Last two compressors wouldn't keep up then blow thermo breaker. That gets old! I run two nail guns framing no problem with this one. Also kept up with two roof nailers . It's also lighter than any other compressor I've had . For the price in comparison about $70 cheaper than others I was looking at at the time of purchasing. I can't find anything bad to say about this unit at all

Excellent compressor

Hitachi has a winner in the Ec99s. This compressor is fast and quiet. It doesn't trip breakers even when both my 12" miter saw and it are running at the same time, but the most impressive thing is noise level or lack thereof. I own another well known dark green compressor that is sold as a 60 DB quiet compressor. Using a DB meter app standing next to both compressors the quiet compressor measured 68db while the Hitachi measured 70db. Hitachi really missed the boat by not touting this com...

great portable air supply

i recently moved to a condo. i had to sell my air compressor (vertical 80 gal). but still needed a compressor for the car, golf car, and cart to haul heavy stuff after shopping. (from the communal garage thru the building to my unit) i keep it in my storage closet outside the unit on the fourth floor. it is one of my prized possessions. thank you Hitachi.

Excellent Reliability

Impressed with it's overall quality and reliability. Quick recovery, holds pressure, and very transportable. Excellent compressor to support one or two carpenters.

Needs to be mobile

It works pretty good, but needs some kind of rollers on it , in the event it needs to be moved from time to time.

Not a Good Tool

I bought this air compressor and exactly a month and after 8 uses the motor was making a big noise, i checked and the motor support was broken. Too heavy and noising

Ok...

This compressor runs with no complaints... The downside is that it is slow in the 80-110 range where most air tools operate. I worked it pretty hard with one roofing gun last summer so no chance of running a crew off it. As another reviewer mentioned, the hose fitting leaked from day one, I leave a hose plugged in (it doesn't leak with something plugged into the fitting).

Very good unit

as small unit compressor, it is a good unit. Has a slow start process, almost as though the starting cap is undersized, but once its running, it runs very well. system is extreemly tight dosen't leak down oveer night ar over the weekend.

Fantastic Compressor For The $$$

Tech specs not mentioned often... 0-135psi in just under 2 mins. Cut-in to cut-out recovery is 30 seconds. Duty cycle is rated at 70%. 83db rating as tested in factory. Quite tolerable to be around. Actual current draw averages 11.5-12 amps. Oil capacity is approximately 4 oz. Solid build quality... efficient cooling system for long run periods... 1/4 turn drain valves are a nice touch... very stable and smooth while running... full synthetic 5W50 oil included... Gave it a 20-25 min break-in a...

Great small air compressor

We got this along with the Campbell Hausfield 5 Pc air nailers. After getting everything adjusted, it worked beyond what we expected. We roughed in our project in one day verses probably what would have been a 2-3 day project using hammers and nails. We are well satisfied with this compressor and will be used beyond the air nailers. Highly recommended for all small to medium jobs. Also, it was quieted than expected, but was using outdoors.

quiet, powerful compressor

Got this compressor the other day and it works great. Wanted a compressor that was small to make it easy to carry from job to job and quiet. It was pretty quite so filling up indoors isn't a problem. Good power to fill up in about 45 seconds. The gauges are a little flimsy and can be prone to get knocked around since they stick out in front. The dip stick is a little hard to read and could have been design better. Use it for brad, finish nailing and stapling all day with no problems.

For the money it can't be beat!

I bought this compressor almost a year ago. Yes it does dram alot of power, but if you plug in to a outlet directly it works great. Use more air hose than extension cords. I have 200 ft of cheap air hoses that I use as supply lines if I need them. Put a 50 ft good hose on and it works great, super quiet, great cfm's! I waited till this week to see how it did in cold weather, It did FINE!
