What Customers Are Saying
The Hisense dehumidifier has mixed reviews. While some customers are satisfied with its performance, quietness, and energy efficiency, many have experienced issues with the unit failing within a year or two of use. Common complaints include a loud pump, malfunctioning electronics/sensors, and ineffective dehumidification. When working properly, the dehumidifier effectively dries out damp spaces and the built-in pump feature is praised. However, the reliability and longevity of the unit appear to be major concerns for many customers.

Would RecommendI was hesitant to buy this dhum because it's expensive and not energy star rated. However, energy star is just a program that verifies manufacturer claims and this dhum has a claimed integrated energy factor of 2.8L/hr which is 0.8-0.9 higher than the top rated energy star units. The reason this unit is so efficient is because it has a DC inverter that modulates how hard the compressor works. I suspect this was not submitted for nrgy* testing to keep the purchase price down. I confirmed the powe...
The room it is in is less than 800 square feet.
Would Not RecommendIt has not yet lowered humidity to the setting and has been running for two weeks.

Pump runs frequently and is loud
Would Not RecommendI liked this unit for the first 2 days until I hooked up the drain line to the pump. The compressor and fan on quiet mode are in fact quiet - however, when in pump mode, the pump is loud as heck and runs every ten minutes, but nowhere in the listing or product manual tell you this. Completely defeats the purpose of marking it to be a "quiet" unit. Unfortunately I'll be returning it.

Junk
Would Not RecommendI have had problems with this dehumidifier from the day I bought it. Mainly removing the bucket to empty when the pump shuts off. Very very difficult to extract. High sense even has a fix for that which is shake it. Doesn’t work I’ve had to pry it off many times. Tried to take back to Lowe’s but it was two weeks over their 90 day return policy. Like I said, this item is junk do not buy. Get something made in this country.

Wow! Inverter technology at it's finest
Would RecommendThis dehumidifier surpassed my expectations. I was hesitant to spend this much on what is considered a throw away appliance but if you can stomach the added expense, it's totally a fantastic machine. I have a 10 year old GE that has worked flawlessly in the master bath. I use it as opposed to a vent fan. It's a 70pt, energy star and pulls almost 800w. It's loud and vibrates but works very well. This new Hisense is QUIET and energy efficient. On the highest setting it pulls 650W. Keep in ...

2 year warranty for a reason
First year the unit worked great. After a year I noticed I was getting E9 fault and it would shut down. On some models E9 means the humidity sensor is bad or dirty. On those models clean the sensor and you are good to go. This model is different. E9 fault means it's junk. I took the cover off to inspect the compressor, etc. and was surprised to find the whole inside of the unit was absolutely covered in rust after one year in a basement. I did notice my drain hose which is clear had started to t...

Consistently Fails After 1-2 Years
Would Not RecommendI have had four of these new from Lowe’s or refurbished from Hisense on warranty claim. They consistently fail and working the warranty claim with Hisense is a pain. Not what I would call and “Industrial-grade dehumidifier” as advertised. I have had similar experience with smaller Hisense units also.

Do Not Buy
Would Not RecommendI tend to buy items that are more expense because I want quality. This is NOT it. I spent the money to get a great dehumidifier for the basement 3 years ago so I would not have problems. This unit looks "pretty" but after a year it turned into just a "pretty brick". The compressor stopped working after 18 months. I went thru all sorts of content and paper work to get Hisense to do something about it. I finally got them to send another unit. The new unit was fine but after 18 months again, it fro...

Won't be disappointed with this one...
Replaced previously owned Hisense dehumidifier that ran for almost 10 years.....New machine runs quieter and has more selections to choose from in order to adjust it to your specific application.

Does not dehumidify
Would Not RecommendThis is the worst dehumidifier one can possibly buy. Do not be fooled by the specifications. I bought this high-end inverter dehumidifier for efficiency and 60-pint daily extraction. I was trying to lower the 60% humidity for my 2200 square-foot basement. This item ran non-stop for weeks and never produced more than 8 pints of water a day. The item I bought was manufactured 3-years ago so I worked with Hisense and they were glad to replace it. The replacement came fast. It was built 1 year ago, ...
