I was changing the fan light on my fan. I had to modify part of the old light fixture to use the new one. Warning- they use a smaller bulb (A15?) than a regular lightbulb. I have found that the smaller bulbs are harder to find. I tried to change out the shades with shades from Lowes, and they didn't work and I had to settle with the ones that came with the kit.

Annoying and will eventually be replaced
Would Not RecommendThis light kit is super annoying. All the time it just shuts off, have to turn the lights off and back on. It will be random, everything I read about the unit, it has a safety, that will shut it off if it detects over 160 watts of power. I have 4 LED lights in that use about 20 watts of power, so it can't be that. It also does it to regular bulbs as well. I wish I would have bought a different light kit when I did. Would Not RecommendI have an 8 year old harbor breeze fan and purchased this light kit which does not tell you that their specifications have gone from 4" at the bottom of the fan to 3.5".
Light kits don't always work as expected
I have bought several Harbor Breeze fan/light kits. This separate light kit was to go with a matching fan. Upon installation, it didn't work. After several times trying to power it up, I only heard a faint pop and I suspect a capacitor blew. I am familiar with the wiring for these light kits, so I believe it was a faulty unit. I brought it back to the store for a refund.

Would RecommendWe installed this into our 70s/early 80s fan. My husband's exact comment was: "It cannot be this easy to install." It was. We love the look that matches our house and it doesn't stand out at all, but blends great. It was a great value for the cost and soooo much cheaper than replacing the whole fan.
Did not fit Harbor Breeze Fan
Would Not RecommendBought this Harbor Breeze light kit, the only 4-bulb bronze kit available online or in the store, to replace a 5 yr. old Harbor Breeze light kit in a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan. Box states "Fits most ceiling fans," but it doesn't, not even another Harbor Breeze ceiling fan. Much time wasted on this project today and now heading back to Lowes to return it. My only option is to replace the entire fan, or go without lights. Noted-no more Harbor Breeze or Lowes.
Like the unit everything is there and you dont have to buy extra bulbs its all there.
Quality and price of the light kit was good. The info on the box said it fit most ceiling fans however it did not fit my ceiling fan and I had to return it. That is the only reason for three stars.
