Turns the light and fan on and off fine, but I didn't realize it does not adjust the fan speed when I bought it. I should have looked more closely and read the reviews, like you are doing now.

So convenient

I love this little remote. It is so nice to not have to get out of bed at night to turn off the lights or to get up in the middle of the night to adjust the fan. I keep it beside my bed so it is easily accessible. It has a nice holder that can be mounted to the wall but I prefer to just sit it by the bed.

Harbor Breeze remote fan control

Had to replace our existing remote when someone dropped the one we had in a bucket of water. These remotes work fine and are relatively easy to install if you have some basic electrical skills.

Handheld Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Control

Very good directions for quick and easy installation. Could only control the light with the wall switch but was unable to turn on the ceiling fan as original remote was broken and could not be replaced. This remote only allows my fan on one speed, which works well for me as I only use periodically when I'm cooking on really hot days.

Simple on off

This product has no frills. It just turns on the light, no dimming support, and turns on the fan, just one setting. You turn on the fan and use the chain to set it to desired speed. This remote acts as an off/on switch for that one speed. It was the cheapest one I saw. For a few dollars more you can get one that has 3 fan settings and probably even dimming. I did not see it since it was on the other side of the fan section. If all you want is to turn on and off fan in same setting and the light...

This does not have the functionality of the other "fancier" universal remotes that Harbor Breeze has. This one, you have to "click through" the speeds of the fan. I put this on in a room that doesn't have much usage so it doesn't matter as much.

Packaging not clear regarding features

Remote doesn't allow changing of fan speed. Options are on/off. This is ok for me, as I never have speed of fan above low setting. However, I couldn't change fan speed if i wanted d/t vaulted ceiling. If this feature is important to you, don't buy this model.
