The new threads are not good!

 Would Not Recommend

These screws with the new 'auger fluted threads' just drill a hole in the wood and then never tighten. Be very careful if you use these. The other really bad thing is that these type threads are replacing all the normal style screws. I have a pound box in front of me right now I will be returning. This is a very bad change Lowe's has made.

Screw vs. nail

 Would Recommend

Great product that works as advertised to hold things together like the new planter that I built. Even includes a bit for the electric drill which is great. They go in quite easily and hold fast. Highly recommend these for outdoor use.

These are the best screws for the job I was doing. Easy start good gripping. I really like the square head. It reduces stripping.
