Not your fathers deck screw

I agree with the other reviews the threads are too aggressive and will gouge a hole and will not draw up the wood tight. I tried to adjust the drill clutch to see if it would help but either the screw would not drive all the way or drive and not tighten. The reason I gave it two stars is if the screws were better corrosion resistant than the original style but only time will tell. I would like the old style back.

Terrible threads

Like the other reviews, the new thread design is absolutely terrible. The screws never get tight, just drill holes. Wasted $30 on a 5# box.

Deck screws

These were perfect for what we needed.

Great fastener made with quality in mind

Used these screws for a 12’ x 24’ car port, new construction. (All pressure treated framing). Had all the tools required to construct this project just needed the time, ambition and materials. All materials came from my Local Lowe’s with exception of steel roofing. These screws were very convenient for me. Swinging the hammer is past tense for me for most of the project. 9ft off the ground and 80yrs young, I found the impact diver and these screws very convenient

Extra reach from "toe nail" angles

These screws were top notch, and the slippery coating made them penetrate other joists, headers and studs with ease using an impact driver screw gun. The 3" length allowed me to connect everything in the walls, ceiling and floors at any angle and still get perfect grip. It would take an earthquake it tornado to rip these screws out of their place.

Superior Hardware

I always prefer to use this hardware. The star drive screw head threads quickly & securely with an impact driver.

bad thread design

YEah these are terrible . We buy the $100 big of these glad we finally ran out using camo brand right now . The new thread design strips out and hogs the hole too bigfora regular screw. Old grips were way better
