Would RecommendI’ve been using these for over a decade after having them recommended to me by a higher-end home builder for use as a sheathing screw. They’re excellent all-around and I use them every chance I get. They drive smooth with or without pre-drilling and have a good amount of notching at the end for self-tapping. Would RecommendGrip-Rite Primeguard Plus #8 x 1-5/8-in Polymer Deck Screws Come with a T-20 hex head, which works far better than a traditional screw head. Weather resistant means it won’t rust. Easy to install or take back out, but they hold.
