What Customers Are Saying
The deck screws are praised for their high-quality construction and performance. The star/Torx head design is noted for its ease of use and reduced risk of stripping or cam-out compared to traditional screws. The screws are described as durable, rust-resistant, and able to securely hold without pre-drilling, even in treated lumber and hardwoods. Many reviewers have not experienced issues with the screws backing out or failing over time. The inclusion of a matching driver bit is seen as a convenient feature. While the screws may be slightly more expensive, most customers feel the quality and performance justify the cost.

Would RecommendI absolutely love these screws for various projects. They are made for exterior use but I use them for inside projects as well. They are very well constructed and come with the bite inside the box. You can't beat that!
Horrible compared to square drive
Would Not RecommendI do not like star drive anything. If you do not have the driver completely in and square, you not only strip the screw head you also round off / break off the tips of the star driver rendering it useless. The solid design of the square drive is much harder to damage the screw or the driver. I myself know how to use the star drive but, my wife and kids tear them up. The square driver is much more user friendly for everyone.
The Star heads screws
Would RecommendThe star head screws do not cam out as badly as square drive and esp. phillips do. The bit is a good idea. A ball detent would be better.
Most fun Screw I've used
Would RecommendI don't think I'll buy other types of screws when working on wooden projects. The screws hold well without needing to be pressed on as hard as phillips head screws (good for weird angles). They sink really easily without the need for predrilling even through oak. Can't say how durable they are yet since I used them to put on cabinets and frame in part of a window recently.
Just try and strip out a star drive
Would RecommendYou may have trouble driving a flat head screw. You may have trouble driving a Phillips head. But just try and strip out a star drive. These are great screws made for greater projects. If you think about using nails versus screws, think about the fact that nails basically give you a compression fit. 'Nail' two 2x4's together at a right angle and you can take a hammer and pound them apart rather easily. 'Screw' two 2x4's together and try the same thing. Nuff said. I like a box of these cause you ...
