The method to feed the string needs improvement.

I tried to edge my sidewalk but the string only lasted a few feet before I had to “bump” the spool for more string. Greenworks needs to improve the engineering so that the string feeds itself. The only practical use of this tool for me is to trim around one tree in my yard!

Do not purchase

We purchased this at the end of summer 2021. One battery will not charge. The string will not automatically feed. The machine will run for few seconds and then stops then it will come on for a few seconds and then quit. We are tried of trying to get this to work and shopping for a gas one. We have several other green works items and sure hope they will last longer than this item. We really enjoyed using last year for a few weeks. It is lightweight an was easy to crank. String feed is lousy

This is the 2nd trimmer I've purchased - the first one (I thought was single string, it was a duel. Guess it was my error. The 2nd one I just received on the 15th.) Just began to edge and the string was gone? Tried to get it to feed per instruction book - nothing. I am a 75 year old female and have been dragging a corded trimmer around. Amazing Weed Eater!!!

This thing RIPs, as my aunt found out about greenworks thru her friend's, the ended up being amazing light weight, easy to use, not to mention powerful, and I come from gas machine world

Love it!

Bought in Feb 2021. Used it once on my entire yard and ran out of string. Tried for months to get a replacement spool. Finally company sent me a free one. Buy where to purchase an additional replacement spool? So frustrating to try to find it. Otherwise, I love this trimmer !

Lightweight, easy to use, plenty of power for small jobs

I bought this trimmer one month ago and have used it weekly to clean up the edging around my yard. It is lightweight, easy to use, and has plenty of power and charge to clean up my entire (small) yard. For those looking for an affordable, eco yard-trimming solution, I recommend it.

Good Product, Could be improved

The trimmer itself is able to get the sections I needed cleaned up well, however the edger functionality is a little lacking. I've found that the cord doesn't reach as far as I would like it to, even on it's longest setting. Overall a good purchase that lasts long enough to get the job done.

Great for a small yard. Easy to handle and start. I wasn’t great at edging at first but have the hang of it now and my yard looks perfectly manicured. Love the fact that it is battery operated. I have the Greenworks mower and love it. Thank you Greenworks for great products.

Lightweight, not sure about quality

Nice lightweight tool, but the string became worn down within one use. I'm hoping that Greenworks will replace it.

Great for edging sidewalks as well as tough to reach areas!

Works great, pairs with my mower. Really like the swivel functionality for edging. Lightweight and effective. Battery life is more than i need.

SO GLAD I PURCHASED THIS TRIMMER

I absolutely LOVE this trimmer. It works much better than imagined and so much easier than my last gas trimmer. No more oil, gas problems, no pulling, much less shaking. In fact minimal hand irritation and so much more quieter than my old gas trimmer. Works fast and I get my full acre lawn worth of trimming done in a full charge. Great string trimmer

Battery powered is the way to go. It goes through everything.

Big Disappointment, not as advertised

Not the easiest tool to use. You really need a second battery, because it doesn't last as-long-as advertised. Disappointed because of this.

OK to a point.

Pretty good when the line extends. It doesn't come out when bumped and sometimes gets lost inside resulting in disassembly.

Assembling instructions poor...the knob to attach the handle is broken

I had difficulty assembling the trimmer STG304 The instructions were poorly issustrated. The handle knob is not usable it is too short to reach the screw in blot.

Great little trimmer and edger for a small yard. Adjustable head makes it easy to meet a variety of trimming needs.

More convenient than a gas trimmer

Purchased this along with an 10" Greenworks string trimmer to take care of a one acre colonial era cemetery in Connecticut. Works well around all the gravestones and shrubbery. Already have replaced the string spool due to my heavy usage of the trimmer. Also bought a 3 pack of Greenworks replacement spools since I knew I was going to be doing a lot of trimming this year.
