Not quite what I bargained for.
Would Not RecommendI purchased this as the companion part for the Gibraltar Ironside mailbox. The first thing I discovered is the fact that it is much smaller than the mailbox. They include spacers but only for one side which forces you to mount the mailbox off center. Furthermore, due to my post having a horizontal mounting post, I had to modify this mount by cutting off two of the lower tabs. Glad I have a die grinder! Sometimes "universal" ain't so universal.
Confusing directions
Would Not RecommendI bought this plate since I had just moved into a house and the mailbox had to be moved from house delivery to the end of the driveway. I had no wood to cut to size and my tools were not yet unpacked. I hired a handyman to help dig the post hole etc. We had a great deal of difficulty getting the extra large mailbox onto the plate for a sturdy fit.
