Would RecommendI purchased the 3500 IO back in 2020 in Texas. To date I have 7558.7 hours on the unit, it went through the Big Freeze in Texas, kept my neighbors homes heated during power outages. This unit has had the oil changed every 250 hrs (30W), Lucas upper cylinder gas additive occasionally, a new pull cord at 5800 hrs and a yearly plug change. I recommend this unit for all your uses up to 25 amps, it hasn't let me down. Great unit

Sucks
Would Not RecommendI bought one of these generators for a backup for my Ryobi generator and it’s so frustrating!!!!!! It takes forever to get the thing started vs my 10+ year old Ryobi to start. I can start my old Ryobi with 3-5 pulls and it has well over 100 hours on it as it’s over 10 years old! But my generac is much harder to get started and it’s got maybe 10 hours of use on it! I wish I had bought 2 of the Ryobi generators at the same time!!! You say you’re one of the best out there but even Coleman is easier...

Not worth the price
Would Not RecommendBought this last year and was disappointed it wouldn’t run a small ac. It will start up and run for a few seconds but then goes into limp mode. Won’t run a toaster or microwave without going into limp mode. My old Honda 2500 ran it fine. It hardly idles with no load. Tried to return but couldn’t. Told to call generac which I did several times with just the runaround. I basically use it to charge the trailer battery. Haven’t found anyone who can make it work as advertised

Customer Service and Warranty issues
Would Not RecommendI bought this generator after doing my research and wanted to get one with a great warranty and a company that would stand behind their product. I got neither. Long story short had an issue with the generator after initial break in process. Oil was coming out of the top end and most places where it shouldn’t be, I have it well documented. Took it in to certified retailer to get warranty work done and Generac refused to pay for a dime. I have had issues contacting their customer service reps and ...

Good Generator
Would RecommendIt is as advertised. From the the few hours I used it performed very well. I'm looking forward to many years of service.

Hard to start and you can’t get to the spark plug.
Would Not RecommendBecause it’s kind of an idiot proof user interface. You can’t turn the gas off, so I’m sure it floods itself regularly. If you want to check the spark plug you can’t because the sound insulation is cockeyed to the plug so you can’t get a socket on it I might have to take a knife to it, or just buy a Honda.

This review is for a GP3300i
Would RecommendI haven’t used it very much, just a couple times at home. We bought it for camping with our travel trailer. It is very quiet and responds quickly under load. So far so good. When camping season starts in Michigan we will be using it a lot more. I think it will work great for our application.

Easy power during storms
Would RecommendWe live in a 1950’s suburb in Sacramento, CA - the City of Trees. We love our trees. But windy winter storms, trees and power lines don’t always work together. After annual power loss for up to 3 days each winter, we bought this inverter generator this winter - a day before the storm. Long story short this unit fired up with ease and powered our fridge, heat fan unit (gas powered furnace), several lamps and even our wifi. The generator ran for 30 hours straight and was an after thought until the...

Shipping Weight: 74 LBS. Add Fuel: Apx. 90 LBS. - NO WHEELS
I haven't taken my GP3500iO out of the plastic yet, because I am looking everywhere for a wheel kit. No wheel kit. Generac apparently does not offer one. Unbelievable. If you plan to move your Generac GP3500iO around your property, plan to have a couple of hired hands to help you move it. Thanks, Generac. My first experience with you is "Buyer beware".

Very quiet and portable
Would RecommendRuns everything I need it to- AC in the RV, Power tools when off grid and it’s light enough for this old geezer to pack around. Also so quiet that I can hardly hear it running from 35 feet away. Will be handy to run the freezer or whatever if the power goes out .
