Only owned 11 months and test run only...

Hello Folks, I love the premise of the Generac easy dial operate, BUT I seemingly have run into a problem starting after my 11 month test! Fresh Gas and about 30-40 pulls without even a Pop? Though perhaps that I had missed a step but after watching this video I realized that I did not... Any Clue as to what may be wrong? Please advise and Thanks Much, Mike...

Exceptionally easy to operate!

Product overall was a great buy. Now the only reason I did not rate it with five stars is because I could not seem to find anything in the owners manual that talked about a Break-in period. Coming from a power generation background you know it’s extremely important to do a proper break-in, unless these are broke in at the factory before sale I could be wrong but I recommend that Generac adds something into the set-up criteria along with some extra oil for the matter. Bought this for a hurracaine that did not come in 2017 put up without even taking out of box ,fast forward to hurracaine Michael in 2018, got out box day before it hit put oil in it ethanol free gas pulled 3 times, cranked off ,4 days without power never missed a beat, like the handle and wheels, power dial is cool idea, makes it a little aggravating for people who needs to run gas out carb and drain tank for storage till next hurracaine, needs little improvement in that area ,a way to shut fuel...

Lifesaver

Purchase it for Hurricane Michael and I am not disappointed I will find other use for it I ran continuously Non-Stop and I manage the load only one 240 item at a time I E stove hot water heater AC..... I never let it run out of gas but overnight with running the AC it ran continuously for 8 hours with fuel to spare

Great quality product

Bought prior to Hurricane Michael. Our home never lost power so we carried it to my wife's mother's house which was without power about a hundred miles from us. We unboxed it and installed the wheels and pull handle which was very easy. Filled it with gas, turned dial to choke pulled once and engine fired right up! Was able to get my wife's 89 year old mother temporary power for her house and well pump. I am very impressed with Generac generators.

Great machine

I use this unit often for the house during storms or at job sites. I purchased a natural gas conversion kit from Amazon and now like during The aftermath of Micheal, it’s running 24 hours a day without me having to refill it with gasoline

Purchased for Hurricane Micheal. So glad I did. This generator has a great fuel capacity and fuel usage per load. Would highly recommend for any emergency and multipurpose!

Great product - quality - performance excellent

I purchased the RS5500 for use with Hurricane Florence. Put it together, gave it oil and filled it with gas - it started right up on the first pull. Excellent user manual - told me all I needed to do. Highly recommend it. We were without power for 20 hours so I definitely got use out of it.

One of the best mid-sized generators.

We bought this before Florence came, to replace a slightly smaller unit. We wanted the 30A capability, as we’d had a breaker and receptacle wired into the panel box when we built our new home last year. This thing is exceptional. Ease of use

Purchased two years ago and never took it out of the box. When Hurricane Florence came to town and the power went out I took it out of the box. It was easy to setup and start. It help get me and my family thru the storm.

Love this product

Love this product. Helped a lot during hurricane Florence. Just need to know how many hours does it need to have on it before I need to change the oil or do any maintenance on it to keep it running well. Other then I’ve got to replace the screw for one of the feet. Because of the vibration the screw and foot keeps coming off. Love this product.

Hurricane florence savior

3 days before hurricane florence hit the Carolina coast, lowes got a shipment of these rs5500 portable gens. I took it hope hoping I wouldn't need it but better safe than sorry. Assembly was very easy and starting was even easier with the user friendly start/run/stop dial. My power went out early Friday afternoon and didn't come back until monday. The RS5500 has enough power

Bought the RS5500 3 days ago, Last one the store had and was the display model. Brought the unit home , filled it with oil and about half gallon of fuel and the unit started right up. Like the power dial feature. ONE PROBLEM> NO OWNERS MANUAL. I need a "written" owners manual, is this possible to obtain . Have not yet used this unit and the "FOUR" OUTLET" CORD has color codes but without any owners instruction I do not know what the different color codes mean on the outlets.

Easy to set up

I have own mine mine for three years. Starts up easy. Only issue I had is where I stored for three months with fuel in tank. Had to replace the fuel filter and clean carb out. Starts and runs again. The 10 percent ethonel added fuel will clog if sets too long. Add stabilizer to keep it from it causing problems when time to use in emergency.
