What Customers Are Saying
The Gator sanding discs are a durable and effective product that performs well for most users. The discs feature a ceramic grit and cloth backing that contribute to their longevity, allowing them to last longer than cheaper alternatives. They effectively remove material and sand surfaces smoothly, with good dust collection and minimal clogging. The grooved design helps with dust dispersal. The discs are easy to use, securely fitting on standard orbital sanders with a reliable hook-and-loop attachment system. While slightly more expensive, many users felt the improved performance and longevity justified the cost. A small number of reviewers experienced issues, but the majority were very satisfied with the product.

Would RecommendI bought the 80-grit package, since I usually start sanding with that grit. I have tried many brands, and this brand is comparable to other brands I have. The design of the paper funnels sawdust toward the duct collection holes very well. There is usually sawdust buildup on sandpaper even with good dust collection. However, most of the dust was removed from the disk during use. I have not evaluated the sanding removal rate compared to others but seems comparable.

Would RecommendThese sanding discs performed better than several others that I have tried: Non-clogging; fairly long-lasting.

Amazing sanding pads!
Would RecommendThese pads are incredible. I compared them against a competitor brand. Both 120 grit the competitor was worn down around the edges and had packed-in sawdust preventing proper sanding after 90 seconds. The Gator brand ran great for over 3 minutes with minimal wear and still felt fresh! Sanding was a breeze. Pad stuck well and didn’t move while sanding. You can see the difference in the green Gator brand and the inferior brand in brown. You can see I caught a slight snag in one of the holes on som...
Don't know if I can go back.
Would RecommendI have been long an advocate of cheap sandpaper, just use more. That or find the balance. Though with this I think you could argue that using less of the paper would end up being cheaper. I was blown away at how well it took away the paint off a gummy primed section of MDF. Cleared the paint away like it was 80 grit and left me with a 120 grit finish. Fits a regular random orbit sandar with 8 holes like you would expect. Good quality hook and loop on the back. Im sold.
New design, fewer clogged discs.
Interesting design with voids to trap and disperse built up material instead of clogging up the disc. Works well and lasts longer than the cheap discs.
Perfect fit
Would RecommendThis product arrived quickly & it’s very simple to use! Just remove them from the box & pop it on! No muss, no fuss! The grade is perfect for my small sanding projects! Evening out sloppy paint jobs on my walls & ceilings! I’ll get a lot of use out of these!
Smooth
Would RecommendGator Reptilian 5-inch 120 sanding discs are great. I have a rusted band saw table that needed attention. I cleaned the rust off and finished sanding the top to smooth glass finish using these sanding discs. I use regular sanding discs to get rust off and they didn’t last as long as these Gators. I know this is not common use but these worked great and didn’t break down as fast. Easy to use and connect to my sander. I supply pic but not sure you can tell but used the same discs after the me...
Absolutely recommend! Impressed with this brand.
Would RecommendWe used this gator sandpaper 120 grit for an orbit sander to smooth down several closet shelves. The holes lined up perfectly for our sander and I was suprised at how well each sanding disc held up to sticky glue from old contact paper on some of the shelves. It gave the boards fresh life and very quickly had my odd jobs done.
Novel idea
Would RecommendThe discs fit my dewalt rotary sander perfectly. The lighter green areas are smooth while the dark green has the sanding grit. My assumption is that the light areas are channels that allow the dust to travel to the vacuum in the center, keeping the area being sanded relatively free of dust and allowing the grit areas to work on the actual wood and not grinding dust over and over
Higher quality base paper.
It has good velcro and grit is the same quality as any brand. It cleans up wood really well and smoothens it up. The actual paper itself seems to have a higher quality to stand up and not tear easily as other brands though.
High quality sanding discs
Would RecommendI’m very impressed with the Gator sanding discs. Right out of the box, they are on noticeably higher-quality paper than generic discs I typically use. I do some woodworking projects pretty regularly and these have come in handy. I use mainly hardwoods like red oak and walnut. The 120 grit does a great job on my initial smoothing of rough surfaces. With the hook and loop attachment system, it stays in place with my Bosch cordless random orbital sander. The discs are a bit oversized, but no issues...
