Not Good
Would Not RecommendJust installed this item. It was not at all easy to mortise to allow placement. After installation, I was very disappointed to have this catch allow 3/8" back & forth movement of my door! I adjusted the catch - even the spring tension on the ball - as much as possible and still had that result. That, plus the ease with which the door will open with very little effort rates this product a Big Negative. Should have gone with a magnetic catch like I originally thought.
Needs replacing periodically
Would RecommendWe use this for our pantry doors in the hallway outside our kitchen. The original one lasted 13 years. Then randomly, the ball portion fell inside the hollow core door. I bought this replacement and it lasted 8 months and then it too succumbed to being swallowed by the door. The original survived years of toddlers accessing the pantry for anacks, but these newer ones are vulnerable to teenagers, apparently.
