Horrible First Experience with Garmin
I bought the watch, charged it up, and put it on. First off, I'm coming from a Fitbit Versa 3, which is now back on my wrist. The screen on the Forerunner 255 is beyond bad. It's so dark and dull compared to the AMOLED on my Versa 3. What's odd is that the Versa 3 released in Q3 of 2020 and the Forerunner released Q2 of 2022. Great everyday watch and running companion
My wrist feels naked without this watch now. It is a comfortable watch to wear sleeping, exercising, and for daily use. The metrics are extensive, the set up was intuitive, it pairs easily with my phone and heart rate monitor and relays incoming messages and weather data. Really nice
This is my second garmin watch with my first being the fenix 5x. Very impressive how much better these watches have gotten since then. This one is half the weight, higher resolution, and the same battery life as my first. Been enjoying the heart rate variability figure as a marker for workout recovery. Also I usually get 2.5 to 3 weeks of battery from the watch. If you are active and are motivated by self improvement this watch is a great way to monitor your progress.

The watch does what I need it to do — but there’s a lot that I’m sure it does as well but I can’t figure those things out. It’s not as intuitive as a tech-idiot like me would have liked.

This is my 4th (I think) garmin watch and I love it. Has many great feature to help me keep track of my fitness and health. I can even tell when I'm getting a cold with 1 of the tools on it. Compared to the other garmins this is the best bang for your buck. So happy I bought it

Has everything I wanted, and more!
I bought it a month ago and since then I've used it every day. I love the GPS and navigation features, and the sleep details as well. It's very light, and comfortable to wear. I wish I'd bought it sooner.

I honestly don't have many (real) complaints. The watch has so many apps that it can be overwhelming, but for the white spots appearing on my 645, I don't think I would've upgraded

Very pleased with the 255
I have been happy with my purchase of the Forerunner 255. Meets all my expectations. I use it for my running, both trails and roads and always picks up satellite fairly quickly and it's pace, mileage and elevation features all seem pretty accurate. I also use it for gym workouts, swimming laps, and biking. Battery life is good. Maybe charge it twice a week, depending on how many miles I run. Overall, I feel like it's been a good value for it's price

Useful data and exercise guidance
I starting using this watch a month ago, replacing my other fitness watch that stopped working. I really enjoy Garmin Coaching and the insight into the data that is being gathered about my health and sleep. It's been a big transition, as scores for sleep have been very different than my previous watch. My scores have been much lower on the Garmin. This feels more accurate. A good watch if you know how to use it.
I bought the watch after owning two previous Garmin watches. The instructions or unclear incredibly small. I have gone to a couple of YouTube videos to figure it out. This aspect was a disappointing.

Hard to work
Gift and it does keep time and notifies me when I get a text- can’t get other programs to work- such as for tennis- not enough time to do what I want before it goes back to regular mode- videos too fast to work from and no phone number to call?

Great triahlon training watch
I replace my 955 that I dropped in deep water with the 255 and see only a small loss of features for half the price. It does everything that I need with huge battery life.
