It is accurate, using the GPS gives me all the information I need regarding hazards and layups it even has the wind speed and directions to help in deciding whether to club up or down. Great product...

Great Features

While I am happy I bought this, it is extremely touchy when trying to sight a pin because of how it zooms in on a pin and magnifies an unsteady hand. It would be much better if the zoom was adjustable so us old guys that might not have rock steady hands could hold the range finder steadier

One stop shopping

combines the GPS features with pictures of holes/hazards/greens/yardage markers with the laser rangefinder feature. have not seen another laser rangefinder with this feature. well worth the higher price tag from normal rangefinders in my opinion.

Great rangefinder!

Great product. Only thing I wish is it had a digital zoom feature. The on course overlay is amazing.

Z82

I brought the Z82 a couple of weeks ago. It’s fantastic! Much more accurate than any other that I have ever used! It’s helped me with my golf goals, beat my age and beat the golf course! At 80, age is easy, golf course, not so much! However I did shoot a 69, 1 under this week! Thanks Garmin

Flag Recognition

The Approach Z82 Works Very Well, especially when finding the exact distance to the Flag on the Green. The Garmin watch just does distance to Front, Middle and Back of Green, but with the Approach, I can find the exact distance to the Hole. Also great to find the distance to areas before or after hazards to know what club it use.

Garmin Z82 Review

Pros... Best golf rangefinder hands down in terms of the relevant info it delivers. Cons... The digital viewfinder needs to be clearer, it needs a magnet, target acquistion needs to be easier and quicker.

Optics were not as good as expected. Takes a while to hit the flag. Gives a ton of information but takes a while to get everything. Can slow down the round if you are using all of the information. Also had problems with it disconnecting from my phone through the round. Feel like for how much it is the speed and quality of the optics would be better.

Bad screen quality

Great GPS tech. Extremely poor screen quality. Display is grainy, blurry and jitters even after adjusting for my eyesight.

So far so good!

I have used this for three different courses that I had never played before and so far, so good! I love the 2D GPS image of the hole, distance to the 200, 150, and 100 yard markets, and location and distances to hazards. Very, very helpful when playing new courses. The only slight issue I've had is sometimes I must hit a wrong button and I seem to get stuck in a menu option without being able to return to my round. I just have to let it go to sleep and then wake it up later. It might be due to...

Great product,

I have owned the Z82 for a month now, it works fantastic. Accurate and always ready. My only knock is that it won’t pair to my S70 Garmin watch. That causes me to start a round on both devices. Other than that it works great.

disappointed

This is a top-of-the-line Garmin, but it does not have the one feature that the Z30 has. Even though this would just be a software update. 5 stars plus if the watch updates the pin like the Z30

Exactly what I was looking for

The combo of a laser to check pin distances and GPS to see where that is relative to front/middle/back of the green is the holy grail of approach decision making. This unit does exactly what I expected it to which is perfect.

Been lifelong garmin supporter and first time having issues with one of their products. But this thing is a piece of trash. Lag is way too slow and scope is awful compared to any other average rangefinder I've used. I liked having some of the features and keeping score on it to save in app but ended up using my old rangefinder more on course as couldn't stand having to wait for it to load each time using it. Save your money.

Sweet features

When I first bought this couple years back I loved all the features and was pretty awesome as I am a golf nut gadget guy. The only thing I would like to change is that if it goes to sleep it takes awhile to wake up and get a reading. Would be nice to have a simple mode for point and shoot without reloading if you want a quick read. And seriously that is the only negative about this as it’s really cool otherwise. Amazing product!

Very easy to lock onto pins to get accurate distancing. I LOVE the distances to hazards (front and back) - that has changed the way I play! Only thing that is taking a little getting used to is the focusing of the eyepiece. It can be a little finicky with the position of your eye. If you are not looking dead center into the lens, image can be hazy.
