Slow to lock on target

I’ve been getting 5 @18 hole rounds in before it needs charging. The GPS and laser work very well. My only disappointment is I wish it locked on quicker. My Bushnell before it quit working was instant. This one takes 3-4 seconds. Overall very pleased and would purchase again if I needed to.

Overall a well-rounded rangefinder

I'm blown away by the display and information it gives you. Maps are updated through 2025. I'm able to see hazards, greens, and front and back distances. I also love that it has a rechargeable battery. There are features I'm not sure I'll ever use, so it comes with plenty to work with. The only downside I've noticed is it doesn't have a magnet, so it won't attach to a golf cart. Also, the bag it comes in is not the easiest to get the device out or put back in. Terrific RangeFinder

The Z82 is incredible. I wear glasses and see through the viewfinder well, which I have had difficulties doing with other rangefinders. The organization of the information onscreen is brilliant. Every distance you can imagine is there at a glance.

Expensive but good

Garmin finally go it right

I bought a Garmin Z82 a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed the rangefinder. One troubling issue has been the inability of the rangefinder to link with Android phones for more than 15 minutes, rendering the advanced wind reporting functions useless. They recently came out with software upgrades that seem to fix the issue. Love the unit and all features now work. Would definitely recommend the rangefinder - great display and excellent features.

Don’t see the value for the price

I have a Z30 and Z82. It looks sketchy through the view finder like a movie or something. I already get hole image and hazard data on my iPhone. The PLAYS LIKE feature always works for 2-3 holes then stops.

High Tech Range Finder

i chose this range finder as i wanted to know more about my shot so i could make the best decision. with the gps map being built into this device, it allows me to do this. i know what i need to carry, where bunkers may come into play, etc

Best of Both Worlds!

Exactly what I was looking for! GPS info on the screen is awesome! Screen is beautiful! You can't go wrong with the Z82!

Battery Issues

This device does not hold a good charge to last a whole round and sometimes will lose connection with my phone via Bluetooth losing information such as wind and other useful information I purchased the device for.

Discomnects

Bought this to also be able to see wind direction and speed. It continually disconnects from phone while playing every time. For the price, disappointed. Should have just bought a simple rangefinder.

Not Worth The Money

The Z82 connects to the iphone. I don’t understand why the Garmin golf app will not track club distance by sending the geolocation to the phone and allowing the user to select the club. This training aid would be so incredibly valuable given the Z82 already has wind and elevation that can help the user better understand their club choices. Rangefinder with everything

This rangefinder has everything you would want. Things to be aware of; the cursor is very sensitive and requires getting used to, if you travel a lot to play golf make sure you download new/updated courses every month and lastly, I wished in their algorithm Garmin could factor in altitude and temperature distance in their calculations

The z82 is like the cheat code in a video game. Every little bit of knowledge of the course is in the palm of your hands.
