Very disappointing
I have had Garmin Golf watches for years (S70 now) so I had high hopes for the Approach Z82. 1. It was hard to connect to Garmin Connect (figured it our on day 2), and even when connected, nothing seemed to connect - for example, a YouTuber said that once connected, and after using the Z82 to determine the yardage to the pin, the pin location would show on the S70 watch (instead of being in the center of the green). Didn't happen, ever. Even worse, it's just a pain to use as a mere rangefinder. ...

Awesome Z 82
I love all the features and functions of Z 82. The graphics are awesome coupled with the wind direction feature. Ultimately helped improve my game as it highlights all the features of any specific hole. They added benefit of the extended battery which allows me to get multiple rounds out of one charge is also a win-win.

Absolutely love this thing on the course gives you exact numbers for everything you need as well as when you use it for an actual rangefinder outside the course the zoom is impeccable and I really like the way the AI works when you used.

There is not better rangefinder on the market. The Z82 does it all and its a cheat code when you and your buddies play a new course. My only complaint is that it's not magnetic and I am hoping that Garmin improves the digital display so that I can see golf balls on the green from far away. A super clear telescopic lens would put it over the top. The new green reading subscription is nice but should included on Garmin's high-end devices.

Wow! Amazing GPS / Rangefinder!
I bought this two weeks ago. I have used it for four rounds. I am still learning more of the features. The total view of the hole, including yardages to the hazards and bunkers and the front, middl,e and back yardages is really helpful. Looking forward to learning and using the integrated app features as well.

Z82 vs old garmin gps
I have been using the Z82 for about a year now. The battery life on the Z82 is much better than my old gps, twice as many rounds. It is nice to get the distance right to flag, in lieu of front, back and middle. The only complaint I have is on blind shots, I can only get distances without elevation correction that I got on my old garmin gps.

The product works well and has great distance flag front and back have helped me to hit more greens and regulation. The bad news is the case is awful and keeping score with the device is very difficult. I also have a Garmin golf watch so I use it for keeping score. If you’re looking to keep score, good luck. Please change the case not sure who came up with this idea.

Not What I Expected!
The biggest thing I was surprised by was the Optics. Comparing to my Bushnell and my Garmin Z30 the Optics on the Z28 were very funky. It was hard to focus, and it was almost like looking under water when looking through the Rangefinder. I have the S70 watch so I realized right away that all I really needed was the Garmin Z30 Rangefinder. I was very disappointed in the Z82 to be completely honest. Great Rangefinder, Atrocious Case
So far I’ve been pleasantly happy with the rangefinder itself. The problem is truly with the lack of magnet on the rangefinder coupled with one of the worst cases possible. It is extremely inconvenient to use for anyone that wants to keep it safe on the go. I was okay with no magnet going in and knew this ahead of time but when I started using the case, it greatly diminished what a 5* device this would be.
