Disappointing

This is the second Garmin S42 I have had in 3-4 years. Garmin sent me this one to replace one that suddenly stopped being able to connect to GPS. I have had my current watch for about a year and it has been showing a low memory warning and sometimes not uploading my rounds to my Garmin app. Garmin support tried to assist, but after trying all their solutions, I am still getting this warning on my display. Not great

When it works it is great. Unfortunately it now brings back scores from prior rounds, sometimes 2 or 3 times during the current round. Have done a hard reset, deleted Garmin golf/connect and reinstalled and the problem persists. Only way to resolve is to turn off the Bluetooth connection to my phone.

Garmin replaced this product when my original watch failed and replaced it with ease.

Works great

I know the yardages are not exact, but this gives a pretty good idea. I’ve had this S42 for a couple of years now with no issues.

Loving my approach S42

I love it! I was a bit apprehensive when I was told the crystal on my approach s 40 couldn’t be repaired. So I ordered the s 42 and am loving the bigger print easier to read.

S42

Takes forever to upload the course. Sometimes I'm 3 holes in before the maps update. I've tried updating maps before I leave and still takes forever to update to the course I'm on.

They don't last long

This is my 3rd S42. The 1st one died and l got a refurbished one free. That died and I got this one (refurbished) for a discounted price.

Horrible!

Received as a gift this Christmas. It keeps freezing up while on my wrist and stops working. I have to continue to plug it into the charger to get it to unfeeze. I'm now in MX for a couple months and am unable to return it. Hoping they'll back me up when I return in March!

Watch is great, Battery life for golf poor.

Love the watch and the different available faces. However, I bought it for golf and after 2 months, it would lose battery power after 11 to 13holes. I sent it back to the manufacture, they sent it back and it worked for 18 holes TWICE and then low battery BACK TO NORMAL. I am a single digit golfer and expected more. I'll be looking for something with a proven battery life for 18 holes. .

This has been an invaluable tool to add to my golfing game. The ease of looking at the different distances on the course makes playing a hole much quicker than having to refer to cards or notes or pull up a range finder.

S42 -- lots of headaches

I have had a S-42 for several months, buying it bec ause it could cover both my golf acti vities and track steps and such. However, getting this watch to sync with my phone has been one endless headache. I have reloaded the Garmin Connect app several times, to no avail. Only twice i nthis time have I succeeded in syncing -- and those successes seemed to be by accident. The steps provided in the direction have not worked. Second garmin golf watch for me and I love it. Use it each round.

GPs is sluggish

I am surprised at the time it takes for the sattlelite to find the course. I thought with this being a Garmin product it would be very efficient but I have free apps that connect to the course much faster. Any advice on this issue to improve the situation is appreciated.

Great when it works

I love the watch when it works. Today I went to use it and it had no courses and would not sync to my phone. What I researched is I need to hook it up to a computer to update it, but I don’t have a computer.

Disappointing

I have had lots of trouble. It loses its connection to the Garmin ap frequently, even during a golf game. I called Garmin, and they were very helpful. Think I'll have to call again.

Touch screen stopped working

I bought this a few years ago and it worked very well. A few weeks ago the touch screen stopped working. I can no longer change the hole I'm on once I start a round. I tried everything listed on the support web page. I reset the watch to factory defaults and reinstalled software on my phone. Nothing worked. I can not make any adjustments on screens that give show a plus sign to increase a number or a minus sign to decrease a number. It is very frustrating that the watch has failed.

Perfect watch for golf

Really like the watch, feel the distances are pretty accurate to what a range finder would say. Easy to keep score on and track shots with distance. Awesome watch I highly recommend
