Known design flaw melts spray arm

I have just opened my new GE Profile PDP715SYV1FS dishwasher to find the lower spray arm melted on the heating element for the third time. We are careful to ensure nothing obstructs the spinning arm. The arm fits loosely and wobbles a lot. The older models have a metal shield to avoid this issue.

Very clean and quiet

Love the third rack, how quiet this dishwasher is, the bottle jets, and how sleek it looks.

Defective after less than 10 Cycles

I dont know how GE was able to create a part so appallingly bad, but do some research into the spray arm melting issue before buying. This is not a case of some bad parts affecting a small amount of dishwashers, this is ALL of them. I do not know how GE was able to get away without testing this dishwasher.

Not as good as my old one

I thought I would love this product. So far every load I have washed has not come out completely clean. There will be residue left on things and my old dishwasher that broke would have everything clean. Not sure why this one is doing this. The controls on top are sometimes hard to get to respond to touch. It’s mostly the too rack that isn’t cleaning the best. We don’t load it where everything is crammed either

Works well with some minor quirks

It works fine and looks great: it's quiet and does a good job cleaning silverware and its cleaning cycles are more efficient. The downside, the bottom drawer is a little smaller than the Kenmore we had previously and the tines that separate the dished are closer together than we'd like - it's a tight fit. Also, the top drawer is not as deep as we expected so you can put in a soup ladle. One weird thing - it turned on the other night by itself. Might be new user error but it was weird.

Amazingly quiet smart dishwasher with great features. First new dishwasher in over 20 years and I couldn't be happier.

Quiet and Efficient

So far I am really loving my new GE Profile dishwasher. It is quiet and my dishes come out squeaky clean. I did not realize how loud my old dishwasher was until I had a new one to compare it too.

NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DISHWASHER CHEAP

We just ran our GE Profile dw for the first time last night - it is brand new! Before that broke 2 dishes just trying to get our FLAT plates to sit correctly in the racks. Cups and glasses slide back and forth each time you close the door - not stable at all!!! We even paid extra for this dishwasher - looks like we have to g o back to Samsung which I already thought SUCKED. At least Samsung even gives you wine glass holders. GE customer services told us to hand wash our dishes. Laughable! ...

3 pressure sensors in 3 years

This is the biggest piece of crap. We need to have the pressure sensor replaced a few months after it's installation. Two months ago the dishwasher kept giving a PRS error, which we ultimately had to have a repair man come out to replace. Now only two months after we are getting the same error. I will never buy GE again. Absolutely terrible construction and engineering. Do not buy this appliance.

rotator arm at bottom has melted 2x. leaks now

Don't walk away from this model - RUN away. We purchased this product, a new microwave/oven unit, a stovetop, and a refrigerator from Lowes. Thousands $$. We purchased in November as part of a total kitchen remodel. Job completed in March so product wasn't used, it was still in the box. Contractor installed and it worked for a week. Then, the arm at the bottom melted. We called Lowes and they said contact GE. We did and a Bodewell service man came out and replaced the arm. It ran for maybe 5 day...

Brand new and leaking!

Brand new dishwasher leaking from door. Ruined our kitchen floor before we realized it since we start it and head to bed. Such a shame! Our house is brand new!

I love the stainless steel interior and I do like the Wi-Fi capability to start the dishwasher remotely. So far it’s very quiet and works well.

Cleans the dishes but poorly designed.

My dishes are clean. However, my dishes dont fit unless i lean them forward. Otherwise the washer arm will hit the tops of them. And the utensil holder is not held in place. If you try to hook it on the side, it rubs against the door gasket.

POOR QUALITY CONTROL, LAZY INSTALLER

LOWER TRAY RUBS GASGET ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DOOR, UPPER RACK ROLLS OUT BY ITSELF, LOWER RACK TOO BIG FOR OPENING, UNIT NOT LEVELED PROPERLY, POOR QUALITY CONTROL , I've been using GE for a long time, disappointed!
