Would RecommendI purchased these bulbs to convert a couple of older 4-foot florescent lamps where both the bulbs and ballasts were failing. Removal of the old fixtures would have required a somewhat expensive remodeling, so it was easier and cheaper to convert those fixtures over to use these Type B replacements. The instructions on the box were clear on how to rewire the sockets and eliminate the old magentic ballasts. The lamps are now "instant on", with bright light, and no annoying hum. What is missing
Would Not RecommendInstructions stated the importance of attaching a warning label to the light fixture to indicate that only type B ballast-less tubes are to be installed after converting the wiring. However, no such label was in the box. Lowe’s customer service was of absolutely NO HELP. I had to find a phone number for GE customer service, who committed to mailing the needed label. I suspect that the two tube box shipped to me by Lowe’s had been opened and the label removed prior to delivery to me.
