Old workhorse’s new progeny
We replaced our previous #450 GE Profile washer with this 650 series. While this one is similar, it does have some great updates. Previous Front loader inner workings looked pristine as I took it apart for repair only to find the spider arm broken and no longer in production. We were kinda hard on the last washer and it held up leading to this purchase.

This Washer Stinks
Would Not RecommendThis washer has a terrible design with microban door gasket. The gasket hold moisture and grows mildew. The gasket is borderline impost to clean and it lead to clothes smelling awful if you done immediately move them to the dryer. The instructions say the door needs to be left open to dry out properly, but that doesn't seem to help.

Communication
Would RecommendThe washer is fine; however, there was no way to communicate with the two men who delivered it. They were foreigners and spoke no English. All they could do was point at the paperwork and point at the washer, I could not ask them questions. Very disheartening, especially in our current times!

Breaks A lot
Would Not RecommendWhen it works - it’s amazing. The washer broke after two years. We bought the same one and it broke in 6 months. If you don’t have the warranty it’s definitely not worth it.

Hopeful US made is better
Just installed to replace your GFW450SM, purchased new 5/8/19 w/gas dryer and stands. Washer did a great job until 1/22 when I replaced a pump. Washer died last week. Cost to repair made buying new the only reasonable option. I could not use the previous stand. The new one has no drawer and cost FAR too much. Used by two OLD people, the performance of the original washer was very poor. The new better be better!!

Finally a Front loader Washer with no Issues.
I have had top loader washers for 30 years. I read the reviews on this GE product and decided to switch brands. I love it! Clothing is clean even in the quick wash cycle. After 5 months, I have had no issues with mold or smell. The door has been designed to stay slightly open which is very convenient. The dryer cycle works great too if I want the door to be closed. I can start my washer from my phone at anytime and delay start as well.
