Disposal does the job; however, it is a bit noisy.

Bought it to replace the GE one that came with the house which broke. Quiet and effective.

Very loud. It is annoying. Keeps utensils out well.

Nice compact disposer

The disposer is more compact than most. It also operates at a higher RPM. Overall it does a nice job. I was also hoping it would be very queit, which it was not noticeably different than the disposer it replaced.

Difficult to knock out plug

It was very difficult to knock out the plug for the dishwasher. Unlike the previous. GE disposer I had with a separate plastic plug, this GFC520V, has a plug that is part of the whole piece and I was afraid it would crack the other parts. Also, when I received it and was trying to unscrew the support screw from the sink flange, it was too tight. It took me more than an hour to replace my old GFC520F to this new GFC520V. Great Product

I had one just like this one. Had great luck with the first one so I stayed with the same make and model. Price was great plus I it was an easy install.

Almost Good

Some more attention to detail would have helped as the drain plug allows all of the water to leak out of the sink fairly quickly. This is a great unit if you never want to fill your sink for any reason.

It's OK

It's OK, it works, nothing special, water doesn't drain very fast, seems slow and builds up when rinsing dishes

Poor useful life and power

This product was purchased and installed in January of 2014. Only 2 1/2 years later, the unit was smoking and failed. We are not a family that dumps everything and anything down the sink; that's what a trash can is for. It is disappointing that a product with the GE label would fail so soon...'disappointing', this is not what I expected for paying the premium to have the GE logo.

Bought it this week, received quickly, installed it. It is pretty quiet! Does a quick fast job it's designed to do. Bigger horse power than what we had too.

The disposal works fine, but it is very loud. My old one was quieter.

Decent garbage disposal

The opening at the top of this unit is more narrow than others. It is also fairly loud, despite being advertised as a quiet unit. Overall, it's a very good deal, since its reliable and very inexpensive.

I bought this garbage disposal about 4 months ago and have been very pleased with it so far. The price was great and it had the functions that I needed for our family of 4. My husband was not crazy about having to put in a new disposal so I did it myself. It really was pretty easy-I watched a YouTube video just to get a feel for it first. Good price and works great!

Easy Install & Very Quiet!

I purchased this disposal for install in a double bowl sink. The included instructions were very clear with helpful diagrams too. We were very impressed with the quailty and how quiet the diaposal was.
