Would RecommendThis flap repair kit is better than anything else I have used. But it does require a little more care during installation than the instructions imply. The grey material is a pliable caulk. It must extend down the flush pipe all the way around the opening and be pressed down hard enough to form a gasket.

Would Not RecommendThis unit installs easily if you have a toilet with a standard 2 inch hole and regular flapper. Just peel off the protective paper, and it presses where your old flapper sat easily. We purchased this in hopes to stop the occasional ‘running’ toilet from water dripping by the flapper. We were wasting water and of course if in the shower when the tank decided to refill, you get that nice scalding water for a few seconds until it shut off again. Would Not RecommendThis flapper valve repair kit is advertised as being able to repair older porcelain toilet flush valves. The kit contains a "peel & stick" adhesive to mate the new flapper kit with the existing flush valve hole. I performed all the cleaning instructions as specified and the adhesive did not hold. I remember using a similar kit many years ago which included a 2 part adhesive putty and a stainless ring to adhere to the existing flush hole and it is still working today in a basement toilet. Would Not RecommendInstalled according to instructions. I ensured that the mounting surface was very clean and very dry. It worked as advertised for about 1 week and now it leaks and there is nothing I can do to fix it. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!!
