Ratings & Reviews for First Alert Battery-operated Photoelectric Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector with Voice Alert
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this smoke and carbon monoxide detector for its life-saving voice alerts that identify the exact room of danger, enabling faster evacuation. The loud, reliable alarms are heard throughout large homes, and wireless interconnection ensures all units sound simultaneously. Installation is described as simple—taking minutes and fitting existing mounting bases without rewiring. The 10-year sealed battery with end-of-life warning provides long-term peace of mind. A few mention the price as high or note the lack of smart home integration, though these concerns are rare and don't diminish overall satisfaction.

Don't mix and match!
I purchased this model, SCO501CN-6, to extend my current wireless and wired system. I already had a network of SCO501CN-3ST wireless detectors and a Hardwired SA521CN-3ST that would receive and transmit with alarms between the wireless and wired sections of my home. Much to my disappointment, this unit did NOT connect with any of the existing and wanted to be a standalone alarm. For me, it was a $50 mistake. I RECOMMEND that if you're wanting to create a network, stay with the same model number...

We purchased the original detector in 2018. after 18 months, it warned us of a problem. But Lowe's replaced it, and so we have a new one installed.
