Compatible with older BRK smoke detector
Would RecommendHad to replace a BRK smoke detector that was past it's use by date. They only last about 10 years and this one was manufactured in 2001. The wiring hook up is compatible, so it was easy to replace with the new one.

Better than the original.
This is a replacement for the older version: SMI100-AC, and it plugged right in to the original hardwire mount. Backup battery already installed. Just remove the strip the activate it. Ran test and yes it connected with both of the new replacements installed. I have two more as backup because they are reaching their lifespan also.

Would RecommendBought this to replace the same model that kept going off. Very easy replacing. Comes with several plug in wiring connectors, so just choose the same wiring that you currently have. All done in 30 seconds.
