Would RecommendI was replacing a 20 year old detector and BRK customer support said this was the new model number to fit properly, advising I would only need to replace with included bracket; the old wiring plug would fit right in to the new model...they were incorrect. I had to disconnect the wires coming from the ceiling and reconnect the new wires/plug (also included). Minor setback but BRK should provide accurate information.

Would RecommendWhen your old smoke alarm starts beeping it needs new batteries or replacement of the unit. The new units seem to work fine

Three of the five smoke detectors were defective. I worked about ten hours trying to find what was going on with something that should have taken less than an hour!
