Would RecommendReplaced and installed five of these, all hardwired and interconnected. Works as expected. Instructions were excellent, and installation was easy. Just remember to cut the power first! I wanted the latest models, and although a bit expensive, it is worth it to have the best technology and protection in any home.

alarm going off all the time
Would Not Recommendi don't have the box no more, but we bought this smoke detector on Aug 27, i am at my wit end with it, i have to always make sure my exhaust is on when cooking and back door open, last night was the last draw i was making toast, it was after midnight, imagine everyone hearing the smoke detector going off they were sleeping, i just want to get something else less sensitive, this is making me crazy, will i get credit, can i bring it back i got it on my Lowes card

Easy Installation
Would RecommendEasy installation. Uses the same plug as the unit is was replacing. I had to replace the back ring that it screws into but that was just a matter of loosening the 2 mounting screws, turning it a little to pull it off, put the new one on and tighten the screws. The detector itself turned into the new ring. The only problem was it was a very tight fit so I turned it into the ring several times before attaching it to the wall. Ten year battery is a plus for me.
Would RecommendLove the 10 year battery backup option. We have high ceilings in our home and the height of the smoke and CO detectors is really too high for me to reach without a 10 ft. ladder (heavy for me to carry around the house). I'm glad to avoid that annual chore of replacing the batteries. It's interconnected to the other monitors in our home and we believe it's operating correctly. Having just installed them, I cannot comment on long term use of the item.
