Would Not RecommendWe bought and installed 3 of them in our home. The green power light does not illuminate the LED button. You can see it flash inside when you stare at the 3 open grooves on the case. Also they tell you to install new batteries in the correct +/- orientation however no where is that marked on the instructions nor on the units. I hope they are better at detecting smoke.

Would RecommendEasy to install with included instructions. If being used to replace old unit's you will need standard screwdrivers (Phillips and regular) and wire strippers if networking detectors together. Wire nuts were used to make electrical connections and are not included. Each unit came with a 9V battery. Green LED status let you know all is good. Make sure you keep instructions handy if you get different LED color / flash combos for troubleshooting or notification of issues such as low battery.
